Mir gefällt in Bayern und Österreich noch nicht mal der Begriff "Weihnachtsmarkt". Das heißt hier seit jeher "Christkindlmarkt".

Awee. That's a beautiful photo. We have an arcade establishment in our city where it only opens at certain months and Christmas season is definitely one of them.
I never really look around but I do think there might be a few in the nearby cities.

Den bei Schönbrunn oder zwischen den Museen finde ich stimmungsvoller : )

Vienna looks like a lot of fun! Plenty of night life and hiking close by, I haven't been there in years. I'm thinking of taking a month or two in Europe this next summer, long overdue vacation!

Den Begriff "Wintermarkt" vernehme ich zum ersten Mal! Heißen die jetzt in Wien alle so? Wenn du meinst, irrer geht's nicht mehr, kommt von irgendwo was noch Krankeres her! Ich vermute, dass auch @stayoutoftherz abgrundtief begeistert ist davon.
Ich wusste nicht, dass es am Prater auch einen Christkindlmarkt gibt. Ich mochte am meisten den am Spittelberg, auch die in der Freyung und am Schloss Schönbrunn waren schön.
Bei mir in der Stadt ist erstaunlicherweise auch einer. Denn in Pristina, Hauptstadt von Kosovo, sind ca. 97 % Muslime, die Katholiken sind die größte religiöse Minderheit mit nur etwa 0,7 %, Orthodoxe sind es noch viel weniger.
Er ist passenderweise direkt neben der neuen katholischen Mutter-Theresa-Kathedrale, die für die paar Katholiken sehr groß ist. Der Glockenturm (auf dem ich gestern war) ist mit 70 m weitaus höher als alle Minarette der zahlreichen Moscheen, umfangreicher sowieso.
Dass in einer Stadt mit 97 % Muslimen das mit weitem Abstand sichtbarste Sakralbauwerk das einer 0,7%-Religionsminderheit ist, finde ich sehr bemerkenswert. Doch damit nicht genug, es wird gerade ein zweiter Turm errichtet, der schon fast genauso hoch ist (leider ist der Autofokus meiner Smartphone-Kamera kaputt):
Dass man den Neubau eines Kirchturms zu Gesicht bekommt, hat durchaus Seltenheitswert!
Auf einen "Wintermarkt" gehe ich nicht einmal. So etwas zu boykottieren stünde jedem an, der für unsere Kultur etwas übrig hat. Für einen Shitpost reichts gerade noch.
