A few hours in the old city Jerusalem - it's all about people.
It was a regular weekend. The sunny morning promised a wonderful day for a long walk and photography. As usual, my decision to drive for the walk to Jerusalem was absolutely spontaneous. The distance from my living place to Jerusalem is just around 100 km, so there is no need for a special preparation. But this spontaneous manner of my usual decisions is again makes my walk without partners, and i usual for this. I really prefer walking alone and focusing on the things happening around me rather than the conversations that accompany the walk.

I entered the old city through the New Gate. This gate is the newest from the whole 8 gates of the Old City and takes to the Christian Quarter. It was built in 1889 by the Ottomans under the directorship of the French consul. Just for comparison, the oldest gate - Golden Gate ( is sealed since 1541)- was built in 6th century. These day, the street continuing after the New Gate is full of the nice cafeterias and nice place to sit, especially at morning, when the sun is still not too strong. Recently this street became very popular by locals (not by tourists entering the Old City from the Jaffa Gate), so i love to go along taking photographs or just observing the area around.

Every time I come here, I try to turn onto some unfamiliar street and walk along it, looking in which direction it leads me. The City topology organization is very complex, with many parallel streets, as well with lot of diagonal and circumferential paths, so, there is always a place for the surprise at the end.

Due to some kind of “stabilization” of the situation in our region, tourists have returned to Jerusalem. During the walk I met many groups from all over the world. Indians and Filipinos, Russians and Americans, all the languages of Europe and Japanese tourists. Sure, big part of them are coming for religious reasons and interests. Personally, I don't care which god people pray to, but just let them do it in the most peaceful way, without interfering or imposing one on the other.

Today I have reached the limit of my eloquence and talkativeness, so you will now continue to view the published images in complete silence. And what may be better than photograph that speaks for itself.

This magazine is a series of black and white photographs, taken during the few days of lockdown, which I spent in the village, where I live. Finally, I got free time and the ability to walk around and explore my living place, but I didn't feel the smell of joy. Everywhere I saw these screaming signs of the APOCALYPSE. Everywhere I saw the approaching end of the world. I was the last man standing.

i always start with some enthusiasm and it's going down very fast as i continue my narrative. And to write the text during a few days sounds even more boring, i prefer to went out for more adventure instead of talking about it. Ant to use Ai for the text completing is sounds ridicules :-)))
