Pets are those little animals that become part of the family. In the past, dogs, cats, and parrots were more common.

Lately, there has been a boom in pets such as Morrocoys, also known as tortoises.

I have four at home. The one in the photo is one of the two largest. Her name is Sahara, and she was the second to arrive at our house, to keep the first one company.

These animals are in danger of extinction, as they are highly sought after to be eaten in pies, especially during Holy Week.

People say they are slow, but not really. Maybe it's just when we see them, because when we stop watching them, they run away and are very good at hiding.
