Chapel "St. Ilia" around village Rosen

avatar

At the beginning of the year, my friends and I cycled past the "St. Ilia" Chapel, located around Bulgarian village - Rosen.

I didn't miss the opportunity to stop by and take a look of the chapel and the stone fountain located next to it.

Although it was winter and the place was deserted, it exuded a unique calmness.

A little history about the chapel:

The foundations of the chapel were laid in 2003, and it was completed and consecrated in 2010. The chapel was completely painted by Burgas artists.

"Years ago, there was a chapel named after the saint near the new chapel, but it was destroyed and a cantonment was erected in its place. The chapel opened its doors to Christians thanks to the personal financial support of the mayor Panayiot Raisi, the funds collected by the villagers and the provision of materials by several other sponsors."
