Walls Full of Life: The Creative Energy That Resides in NDSM (ENG/ESP)
Urban art has always intrigued me.
There’s something about it that speaks for itself, like a creative energy living in every space, wall, corner, or post. That same energy is felt when you observe it, walk through it, or simply stand near it. Even with just a few steps, I feel that I become part of the art that others have created. In that moment, something new is born: a unique art for each of us. It will never be the same art for anyone. Each person who steps into it creates something new.
Siempre me ha llamado la atención el arte urbano. Hay algo en él que habla por sí mismo, como una energía creativa que habita en cada espacio, pared, muro, rincón o poste. Esa misma energía se percibe al observarlo, recorrerlo o simplemente al estar cerca. Incluso con solo dar unos pasos, siento que soy parte del arte que otros han creado. En ese instante, se genera algo nuevo: un nuevo arte para cada uno de nosotros. Nunca será el mismo arte para nadie. Cada quién que entra en él, crea algo nuevo.
Visiting NDSM, in the north of Amsterdam, feels like you’re creating through the art that surrounds and breathes with you. Every space, no matter how small it seems, vibrates with life, showcasing works like tailor-made suits. The art there doesn’t just beautify facades, walls, and corners—it gives them a soul. It’s as if they’re celebrating having been painted, illustrated, and transformed by someone who wanted to express themselves from the deepest place.
Visitar NDSM, en el norte de Ámsterdam, es como sentir que tú mismo creas a través del arte que te rodea y que respiras. Cada espacio, por muy pequeño que parezca, vibra con vida, luciendo obras como si fueran trajes hechos a medida. El arte allí no solo embellece las fachadas, muros y rincones, sino que también les da alma. Es como si celebraran haber sido coloreados, ilustrados y transformados por alguien que deseaba expresarse desde lo más profundo de su ser.
I left NDSM feeling alive because every time I connect with the energy of others’ creations, I feel transformed. I change, reinvent myself, and create new perspectives within. It’s as if a more complete and vibrant version of myself emerges, enriched by an inner world that expands with every piece of art and every corner I discover.
Salí de NDSM llena de vida, porque cada vez que entro en contacto con la energía de las creaciones de otros, siento que me transformo. Cambio, me reinvento, y creo nuevas perspectivas dentro de mí. Es como si una versión más completa y vibrante de mí misma emergiera, enriquecida por un mundo interior que se expande con cada obra y cada rincón de arte que encuentro.
