Yesterday I lived the Puinare experience!

Nothing like going to the beach on vacation and even more in the company of friends. For me, living in a tropical area full of beaches and nearby islands, it is always a good plan to go to these places to connect with nature and enjoy what it has to offer. This time I ventured with my friend Adriany and one of her cousins to " Puinar Beach", a small island that is part of the Mochima National Park, a nature reserve in northern Venezuela popular for its abundant wildlife.

Puinare happens to be one of the most visited beaches in the area, it is very beautiful, with crystal clear waters, clear sand and not much waves. Its water is always fresh and to get there from where I live (Puerto la Cruz), you have to take a motorboat at the Paseo Colon that charges only $ 7 dollars for a round trip. Those who have yachts can go in their yachts, as well as in sailboats and other water vehicles. You can also go by air, no problem, but I think it is more enjoyable to go by sea.

The beach, like many others, has restrooms, canopy rentals, chairs and huts, and also offers a good restaurant service, besides you can find the typical street vendors of different types of food and beach accessories. In my case, I always go to the beach well equipped with everything I need, including my own beach umbrella, food, water and everything else I might need, but it is still good to bring extra money in case an unexpected craving arises.

The coastal sun has been quite intense lately, so we should never forget our sunscreen, I carry it with me religiously and I'm not stingy at all when it comes to applying it on my skin, personal care should never be left aside. This time the sun was so bright that even with sunscreen on, I burned like a shrimp. I think this is also influenced by the fact that the water in Puinare is pretty salty, you really feel the difference compared to other beaches, for me that is a factor that makes it purer, it feels like being cleansed.

In Puinare there are several water activities that can be done, the most popular are diving, kayaking and snorkeling, this is because as the water is crystal clear, it allows to observe very well the marine life available (corals, fish, algae ...). During my stay on the island what I could appreciate the most were corals of different sizes, there were both inside and outside the sea.

Normally, whenever I go to the beach, I like to just relax on it, sunbathe and enjoy the beautiful view, but on this occasion I thought it would be fun to rent a kayak together with Adriany to explore the surroundings and live the experience, but in the end we just enjoyed swimming in the delicious water while laughing about our occurrences.

To the beach, no matter which one it is, I always recommend going early in the morning around 9:00 A.M., since that time is when they are usually calmer. When the afternoon falls, many people start to arrive and it can get crowded, although, this was not the case in Puinare, the beach all the time remained with only a few people, but it is true that a couple of boats and private yachts started to arrive, which is not bad, there is no problem, but if you like the tranquility, take advantage of the morning.

I tell you that I had not been to Puinare for years, so I was delighted when I saw how beautiful it was (it even has special places for photos), everything is very clean and organized, the people who work there are aware of everything, which is a great detail. Even when we were on our way there in the motorboat, the captain of the boat gave information about Mochima Park, explaining interesting details, something that did not happen before.

This trip to the beach was a lot of fun, I have several new bathing suits that I have not used and this was the perfect occasion to use one of them for the first time. Being there, I was able to enjoy a beautiful beach with good company, eat delicious food and snacks, plus take a nap that left me like roast beef due to the intensity of the sun, but happy, a happy roast beef. Definitely, Puinare is beautiful, it transmits a lot of peace and tranquility, it is a place I recommend going to and I hope to go more often now (the next time I go I would like to do Kayaking and see if they give us permission to go up the hill to enjoy even more of the majestic view).

¡El día de ayer viví la experiencia Puinare!

Nada como ir a la playa en vacaciones y más aún en compañía de amigos. Para mí, que vivo en una zona tropical llena de playas e islas cercanas, siempre es un buen plan ir a recrearme a estos lugares para conectar con la naturaleza y disfrutar de lo que tiene para ofrecer. En esta oportunidad me aventuré a ir con mi amiga Adriany más una de sus primas a "Playa Puinare", una pequeña Isla que forma parte del Parque Nacional Mochima, una reserva natural al norte de Venezuela popular por su abundante fauna.

Puinare resulta ser una de las playas más visitadas de la zona, es muy hermosa, de aguas cristalinas, arena clara y poco oleaje. Su agua siempre suele estar fresca y para trasladarse a ella desde donde yo resido (Puerto la Cruz), hay que agarrar una lancha en el Paseo Colon que cobra tan solo $7 dólares la ida y la vuelta. Quienes tengan yates, pueden ir en sus yates, así como en veleros y otros vehículos acuáticos. Vía aérea de igual manera se puede ir, no hay problema, pero creo que es más disfrutable ir a vía marítima.

La playa, como realmente muchas otras, cuenta con baños, alquileres de toldos, sillas y chozas, además ofrece un buen servicio de restaurante, así como también se encuentran los típicos vendedores ambulantes de diferentes tipos de comida y accesorios playeros. En mi caso, yo siempre suelo ir a la playa bien equipada con todo lo necesario, incluyendo mi propia sombrilla, comida, agua y todo lo que pueda necesitar, pero igual es bueno llevar dinero extra por si surge un antojo inesperado.

El sol costeño últimamente ha estado bastante intenso, así nunca debemos olvidar nuestro protector solar, yo lo llevo conmigo religiosamente y no soy para nada tacaña a la hora de aplicármelo en la piel, el cuidado personal nunca se debe dejar de lado. En esta oportunidad el sol estaba tan brillante, que incluso estando embadurnada de protector solar, me queme como un camarón. Creo que en esto también influye el hecho de que el agua de Puinare es bastante salada, uno realmente siente la diferencia en comparación a otras playas, para mí eso es un factor que la hace más pura, uno siente que se está limpiando.

En Puinare hay diversas actividades acuáticas que se pueden realizar, las más populares son el buceo, kayak y snorkel, esto es así porque como el agua es cristalina, permite observar muy bien la vida marina disponible (corales, peces, algas...). En mi estadía en la Isla lo que más pude apreciar fueron corales de distintos tamaños, había tanto dentro del mar como fuera de este.

Normalmente, siempre que voy a la playa, me gusta simplemente descansar en ella, tomar el sol y disfrutar de la hermosa vista, pero en esta ocasión pensé que sería divertido alquilar un kayak junto con Adriany para explorar los alrededores y vivir la experiencia, pero al final nos quedamos disfrutando de nadar en la deliciosa agua mientras nos reíamos de nuestras ocurrencias.

A la playa, sin importar cuál sea, yo recomiendo siempre ir temprano en la mañana tipo 9:00 A.M., ya que es cuando suelen estar más tranquilas. Al caer la tarde, comienzan a llegar muchas personas y se puede abarrotar, aunque, este no fue el caso en Puinare, la playa todo el tiempo se mantuvo con pocas personas, pero si es verdad que empezaron a llegar una que otras lanchas y yates privados, lo que no está mal, no hay problema en ello, pero sí te gusta la tranquilidad, aprovecha la mañana.

Les cuento que yo tenía años que no iba a Puinare, por lo que quede encantada cuando vi lo bonita que estaba (hasta tiene lugares especiales para fotos), todo está muy limpio y organizado, los que trabajan ahí están pendientes de todo, lo cual es un gran detalle. Destaco que incluso cuando íbamos de camino para allá en la lancha, el capitán de la misma dio información sobre el Parque Mochima, explicando detalles interesantes, cosa que antes no sucedía.

Esta ida a la playa fue muy divertida, tengo varios trajes de baños nuevos que no he usado y esta fue la perfecta ocasión para estrenar uno de ellos. Estando ahí, pude disfrutar de una hermosa playa con buena compañía, comer comida y snacks deliciosos, más echarme una siesta que me dejo como carne rostizada debido a la intensidad del sol, pero feliz, una carne rostizada feliz. Definitivamente, Puinare es hermosa, trasmite mucha paz y tranquilidad, es un lugar al que recomiendo ir y al cual espero ir ahora más seguido (la próxima vez que vaya me gustaría hacer Kayak y ver si nos dan permiso de subir la colina para disfrutar aún más de la majestuosa vista).
