Weekend-Engagement #173: His Last Cosplay and Our First Memorable Weekend Together

Before I met my partner, he was already a cosplayer. At every event related to gaming and anime, he is always present as long as he is in the scope near his place. When he really wants to attend an event, he will really try his best not to miss it. We had only been a couple for a few months when he invited me to a cosplay event held at the Mall of Asia, Pasay City here in the Philippines last December, 2019. I was so excited because it was my first time to attend such an event. My boyfriend was also excited because a few weeks before the event, he also started ordering and getting his costume made. At that time, the Anime 'Demon Slayer' was such a big hit here in the country. It is said that almost everyone orders that kind of costume. And because my partner wants to stand out, he ordered Tanjiro's very first attire in that anime. At that time I didn't know this anime and it was Pandemic when I watched the series. He was a great fan of that anime so he put in all his effort that day.

As a supportive girlfriend, I also went in the Cosplay Arena with him. I was so glad to see him modelling his costume. He even found some friends there and even introduced me to them.

Before the event was over, my partner took me out for a walk on the seaside. It was so sunny but I realized that it was a good moment for him to take some photos. After some moments, we decided to ride a ferris wheel. It was our first time together to ride there so that weekend became even more memorable for both of us.

I'd like to see him cosplaying but sadly, pandemic happened. There were a lot of things that changed including his lifestyle that is why he wasn't able to return doing some cosplay. We are still looking forward to do a cosplay soon but maybe not this year because of some important matters that are still on the line of our plans. But still, this memorable cosplay was really wonderful and I cannot forget it.

Oppps, just to add for the reason why it became memorable. Before he went to the luggage area, he asked me to open this huge gift. I asked him why because he labeled on the card that it was for his nephew that will also attending the cosplay. But then, it turns out that it was his Christmas present for me. That is my reaction there. I laughed so hard and I even asked him if it was a prank. Boyfie is totally good at surprising me and that's how our long lasting relationship works. Even up to this day, he never failed to surprise me.
