RE: Inside the Soviet district of Davtashen

In my country, the old Soviet buildings are in much better condition. But it doesn't matter. I love walking around the old, preserved courtyards that still remember my childhood. We have almost no Lada cars and especially no such old trucks, we only have the architecture of those times, old pear trees and my old childhood friends.

When I come to my old yard on a summer evening, my friends and I sit under the pear tree of our childhood. We drink vodka and cognac, snack on big juicy pears and remember the Soviet times. We had a good time then.

I'll probably go there this evening too. Why not. I need to call a taxi and remember to buy some Armenian cognac on the way...

Yeah it's such a common sight to see groups of people sitting in the courtyards, a lot of the time munching down on sunflower seeds and leaving a huge mess. Drinks (some alcoholic) scattered around the tables too. Some board games to mix things up.

That's currently my evening routine. And some apricots! So good.

Yeah do it! Enjoy the rest of the summer while it's here. Sit back and enjoy the present but also think of the times before. A little bit of summer reflection, especially if you're surrounded by some good, close people to you.

I'll be attending a little concert in a park in a few hours. Not sure what type, though I almost feel it might get cancelled as the winds have already picked up here. Some cognac does sound really good tonight though. Enjoy!
