Wednesday walk to the Bukit Barisan forest
These few days the weather is very hot, the heat is very different from the previous year. The weather in our city, Binjai, North Sumatra province, reaches an average temperature of 34 degrees Celsius. Usually the weather in our city is only 29 degrees Celsius, I don't know whether this extreme weather is due to the influence of global warming or the influence of war. Today is a national holiday because Hindus are celebrating Nyepi. Our family and I went to the highlands of Karo, which has a cold climate. It seems like spending time outdoors with cool weather is better than being at home.
We don't have a clear goal, our plan will only be to travel to cool climates and enjoy unspoiled natural scenery. On the way, we saw a river that had very clear water. Local residents say that the flow of river water comes from the Barisan Hills around the river. We stopped at this river. This river has cool, clear water and has lots of rocks. This river is in the Naman Teran sub-district, Karo district. It didn't feel like 50 minutes had passed, because the water was cold, we immediately changed clothes, I was worried the children would catch a cold.
Around the unspoiled river, there are many beautiful wildflowers. I forbid the children to take these flowers, so this area remains beautiful and beautiful.
After being satisfied playing in the water and cooling off in the river, we continued our journey. Along the way there is a lot of coffee, people clear land by cutting down forests and replacing them with coffee plantations. We stopped to enjoy a cup of bitter coffee typical of the village of Naman Teran. I went to the coffee plantation which is beside the coffee shop and took selfies.
Traveling all day in nature makes the mind calm and the heart happy, it doesn't feel like it's already afternoon. For us as a family, beautiful nature is the best medicine for a bored mood. The lungs can feel fresh oxygen and this is one of the best medicines for our body.
Fog began to fall from the hill range. The fog slowly began to cover the surrounding scenery, usually the fog would also cover the scenery around the highway, so we immediately left the mountains and headed back down. The fog started to cover some of the valley and trees at the foot of the hill.
On the way home, I still managed to take some photos from the car, there are some parts of the forest that are still in the sun and not yet covered in fog. Because I took a photo from inside the car, the photo results are a little blurry.
