Celebration of 78th Teacher's Day in Deli Serdang Regency

Hello friends in Education Community, In Indonesia, Saturday, November 25 to be precise, is the birthday of the Indonesian teaching profession. Every November 25, all teachers in Indonesia celebrate their birthdays with joy, because usually there will be many interesting events during the celebration of National Teachers' Day. Usually teachers will take part in ceremonies according to the area where they work. I am one of the teachers who works in Deli Serdang district. This year, the Teacher's Day celebration ceremony was held in Sunggal sub-district. I am very happy that the Deli Serdang Regency Teachers' Day celebration ceremony will be held in Sunggal sub-district, because I work at SMP Negeri 3 Sunggal, where this ceremony is close to where I work.

The ceremony was held in the sei semayam field, the most interesting thing about this celebration ceremony was that the ceremony participants were allowed to wear traditional clothes from their respective regions of origin. so that the younger generation does not forget the customs of their respective regions.This year is the 78th anniversary of Teachers' Day, the event was very lively.

Some of the ceremony participants were seen wearing typical Malay, Minangkabau, Toba Batak, Karo, Mandailing and Javanese traditional clothing.Deli Serdang Regency is one of the largest districts in the province of North Sumatra. In Deli Serdang district there are several tribes such as the Malay, Toba Batak, Karo, Mandailing, Javanese and Minangkabau tribes. Therefore, the ceremony participants wore several traditional clothes typical of their respective regions.

For participants who do not wear traditional clothes, they are required to wear batik clothes typical of Indonesian teachers, called PGRI clothes. I chose to wear PGRI clothes for this year's Teacher's Day celebration.

After the ceremony is finished, participants can shop and browse various traditional snacks at the stands provided by the committee. Each sub-district displays culinary snacks typical of their respective regions. I also went around with my friends to buy some traditional snacks.

One of the stands looked more attractive than the other stands, they decorated their stand with various balloons and it looked attractive. I also took photos at this stand as a souvenir.

When I was taking photos, I met a friend from my junior high school days, we haven't seen each other for 24 years, we are very happy to meet here, it turns out my friend Mimi also works as an elementary school teacher.

At school we also hold several events, such as selecting favorite teachers and writing letters to teachers.

This year I managed to get an award as an exemplary teacher and favorite teacher at the school where I teach, namely SMP Negeri 3 Sunggal. I am very happy that my children and colleagues chose me as their favorite teacher of the year. I hope to continue to serve and provide the knowledge I have to my students.
