Tiger Swallowtails at a mudhole 🦋
Water is precious, especially here in the arid Southwest. A damp spot in this usually dry creek bed provides a welcome source of moisture (and dissolved minerals from the nearby copper mines) for several Western Tiger Swallowtail butterflies (Papilio rutulus)
They were tolerant enough for a gentle photo on my hand.
