My Actifit Report Card: May 23 2024

We headed back out to Lynx Creek today (spent a few hours there yesterday, but it was mostly prospecting and then relaxing) with a rugged hike along the narrow ravine up towards Walker.

We had a quiet walk first thing this morning as we encountered no other people nor did Lulu spot any critters to chase over in the big field that we loop around.
We started our Lynx hoke about a mile past the forest service campground and proceeded down the easy downhill that brought us to the quiet creek. The lack of rain was evident as the water was a gentle trickle flowing but there were plenty of cooling pools for Lulu to enjoy.

We continued upstream along a narrow and hard to notice foot path for another couple of miles, occasionally checking out the creek, before we arrived at a large expanse of rock that led into a narrow and overgrown area that looked too difficult for our hike to continue.
We sat for a bit and had a snack before heading back on the same path
It really is a beautiful area although it's hard to imagine what it must have looked like a century or mote on the past when the creek was a gold mining center. For now we enjoyed the quiet backcountry scenery and peaceful day together out with Mother Nature.
