My Actifit Report Card: August 26 2023

Lulu and I enjoyed a wonderful trip up to Page Springs which is a few miles south of funky Sedona to walk around the very tranquil and peaceful Page Springs Fish Hatchery.

The hatchery is tucked in among the hills and sits alongside Oak Creek. The Springs that feed the hatchery pour out many thousands of gallons per hour that have flowed underground for thousands of years before popping up around the hatchery to supply the trout ponds and raceways with cool and clear water.



Half a million trout are raised here yearly to supply the state of Arizona but Lulu was busy exploring the various trails around the hatchery grounds.
We looped around several times and hit every path that we could. Nice and level for easy walking with plenty of shade and nice views of the rushing waters of Oak Creek that ran alongside and below our paths.


When we had finished we covered 4 good miles and saw plenty of beautiful scenery including plenty of colorful flowers

as well as very cool insects enjoying a small garden area near the visitor center


Then it was time for a nice rest in the cool shade and a little picnic lunch for us to enjoy after our adventure.
Can't wait to visit again with Linda soon and check out the volunteer openings for the upcoming season and also some more fun time for our happy pup.
