On his small balcony overlooking a quiet street, he tends to his cherished plants-flourishing green vegetables, scent leaves, and bright hibiscus flowers. As a passionate home gardener, David knows that watering plants isn’t just about pouring water. It’s about understanding nature.
He begins by checking the soil with his fingers. If the top inch feels dry, it’s time to water. The humidity in Uyo can be deceptive—cloudy mornings might still hide thirsty roots. David avoids watering in the heat of the afternoon when the sun is strongest. Instead, he waters early in the morning, between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m., when the air is cool and the soil can absorb moisture slowly and deeply.
