In this part of Hawai'i, since we only have porous lave below, all water goes straight through, so if it doesn't rain for even a few days, plants start wilting and curling up, which is wild when you consider that we live in one of the wettest places on earth, with over 100 inches of rain per year! It's feast or famine out here! πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

I have no idea, that's interesting how the lava is porous....
100 inches of rain per year.... that is definitely a tropical rainforest!!πŸ˜…

Indeed, and it doesn't start breaking down into silt and clay until the land is older, like up around Hilo and north, where rivers, streams, waterfalls, ponds, and lakes start appearing. It sure can be! We've gotten 2 feet of rain in one rain storm! πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

Indeed, and to the max, my friend, when it's not being dry that is! πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™
