You have the option to compensate for the missed token tip by looking for another interesting comment from the same Hive author and then replying to it (making sure that you don't forget to tip tokens again), though this would likely be low on your priority list because you told me that replying first to comment notifications is one of the highest on your priorities here on Hive. πŸ€―πŸ˜…

Yep, it is indeed an option, but as you correctly surmised, it is low on my priorities. I just try to do better moving forward, rather than trying to make up for past errors. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

Anyway, I really needed to start checking who the original author is before replying to a comment on its comments section with token tipping commands (or in some cases, replying at all), because some people on Hive don't want token tipping bots (as in the case where all of the Hive accounts of the token tipping projects that you co-created with Bjorn get flagged). πŸ€” There are also some people who don't want a lot of comments that aren't (very) relevant to the original post, regardless of whether token tipping commands are used. 🀯

On this comments section though, the original author is a token tipping lover, so I know I would be free to use token tipping commands on this comment. 😏

Quite true again, and I've learned to become very selective where I use tip calls.

Excellent, then tip away. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

I would highly prefer that Hive token tipping project owners allow fewer token tips per day, but each token tip will have more quantity of the token being tipped. 😎 For instance, the IDD tipping token that you co-created with @borniet allows 50 token tips per day if holding 1,000 IDD tokens, and it's fairly easy to obtain that amount of tokens by getting gifted or buying outside the #HiveEngine market (since the prices of most tipping tokens on Hive Engine are !WILD). 🀯 Very few Hive authors can comment 50 times a day here on Hive, much less use the !IDD token tipping command on every comment. πŸ€“

If the original author joins us here, then I would be happy to tip him as many as 5 tipping tokens every time I reply to him with a (meaningful) comment. πŸ€—

Well, that's a feature that Bjorn could roll out at some point perhaps, though at the moment with the state of Hive Engine, just being able to do anything in layer 2 would be great. All Hive-Engine nodes have been down for most of the day.

That's very kind of you. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

I believe that the top #HiveEngine Witness node operators (those in the Top 20) have more responsibility in keeping the Hive Engine network stable !INDEED. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜…

I think that if most of the high-ranking Hive Witnesses also run #HiveEngine Witness nodes, then the Hive Engine network would likely be more stable. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜Ž

I imagine that it would be very similar to Blurt and Steem, neither of which presently has a layer-2 framework, although that is in the works now for Blurt, thankfully. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

Regarding Hive tipping tokens, I need to be (much) more careful about where I use token tipping commands, especially now that I'm looking for one of your comments that are both relevant to tipping tokens and is less than 72 hours old to tip you !WINEX. πŸ€―πŸ˜…

I wonder how much effort you put every time you reply to a comment to ensure that the author of the original post of the comments section is someone who either loves or doesn't mind tipping tokens on the comments. πŸ€” It's already quite inconvenient on the #Ecency web app on mobile (that I sometimes use), so I can imagine how more inconvenient it is on Ecency native mobile app (which I !HOPE becomes FOSS, or at least available safely as an APK file on Android !INDEED) that does not allow link highlighting (the last time I used it). πŸ€―πŸ€—

None at all really, but if it's requested that I not do it, then I'll refrain, but I default now to not tipping. Yep, doing some things is definitely easier with certain apps or frontends than others. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

Do you mean that you now don't tip Hive authors in general when you start communicating with them (unless you know they love tipping tokens too, especially if you see them tipping tokens themselves)? πŸ€―πŸ˜…

I would suggest that you "take the extra step" of checking if a Hive author uses token tipping commands on their comments feed, because not all people on Hive who like tipping tokens use token tipping commands on every single comment (because they either forgot about it or already tipped the maximum for the day) !INDEED. πŸ€” However, I know that it's likely for you to say that it would "break the flow" (of your commenting sessions) here on Hive. πŸ€―πŸ˜…

I really think that I (almost) always trying to keep track of every token tip here on Hive slows down my commenting activity. 🀯

Anyway, I noticed that while I already tried to tip you !IDD 6 times today (UTC), only 2 of them have been successful so far according to #HiveEngine Explorer at the time of this comment. πŸ€―πŸ˜…

I barely keep track any more. If they work, great, if not, oh well.

It may be instability with Hive-Engine nodes. Our payout scripts are still only partially successful for that very reason. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

In my case, I want to try to make sure that every token tipping command that I use here on Hive works, except when I just wanted to determine whether a token tipping bot which has been down for some time has already resumed working (properly). πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜Ž

Let's !HOPE that the #HiveEngine network which is the largest second-layer network on Hive becomes more stable (or more accurately, less unstable), and when it is finally stable enough, some of their devs would also contribute to other second-layer networks (such as #Honeycomb and #VirtualSmartChain). πŸ€—

If a Hive dev (especially one who loves Hive token tipping bots) who plans to create a Hive app to help a Hive account owner keep track of their token tips should take the following into consideration: πŸ€“

  1. The amount of tokens the Hive account has (given that some Hive token tipping bots such as ALIVE require their respective token to be staked)
  2. The time zone of the token tipping bot (given some tipping bots such as LOLZ have a non-UTC time zone)
  3. The tips already made to a given Hive account for the day (given some tipping bots such as PIZZA allowing only 2 tips per day for a given Hive account on its lowest tier, while allowing 5 tips a day in general)
  4. The time the parent post or comment where the tip will be done (given some tipping bots such as WINEX and PIMP allowing tips only to posts and comments that are less than 72 hours old)

There are more to consider, but those aspects above are what can easily be determined by active Hive token tippers. πŸ˜…
