That's very cool, Benjamin! Yes, I've had that account and one other similar one upvoting my comments. That is a good suggestion! How much do you delegate for those kind of returns?

One important thing, though, since HF26 all upvotes pay out, not just those of .02 or greater. That's a big reason that I changed how I vote, and now upvote all posts on which I comment at 10%, and all comments and replies at 5%. I was wondering what the dustsweeper accounts were going to so after HF26, but they seem to have just continued on their merry dustsweeping way! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

That is a good suggestion! How much do you delegate for those kind of returns?

I delegate about 500 HP ($180 USD) to dustsweeper and averages about $1.50/month returns, paying daily in both liquid HIVE and HBD. It's about 10% APR.

since HF26 all upvotes pay out

Huh! I didn't know that! It's a good change, but it does make dustsweeper sort of pointless. Thankfully it's still functional and rewarding a share of it's curations.

OK, that's excellent! Thanks so much for the info!

I just saw @danielsaori's comment below, so I have to apologize to you for giving inaccurate information. I originally got it from someone's post on the features of HF26, where he apparently misunderstood what the change actually meant. So the .02 rule for payouts is still in operation.

I so far know of two dust services on Hive, this one that you mentioned, and @dustbunny, that has upvoted many of my comments. There are likely others too. I'm looking at @dustsweeper now, and I see you can send or delegate HIVE to it, which is interesting. So there's two aspects of what it does. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

HF26 changed how dust votes are handled, ensuring that all votes, no matter how small, are recorded on the blockchain. However, it’s important to note that the minimum payout threshold of $0.02 still applies. If the total rewards for a post or comment don’t reach this threshold by the payout day, both author and curator rewards will not be issued.

Thank you for this, I went through 8 day old comments with $0.01 or less and saw there were no HIVE or HBD rewards, so it does appear there is still a $0.02 threshold. But tribe rewards still payed!

It apprears there is still a need for @dustsweeper. It would seem a shame to lower VP (even a little) to upvote a comment that does not reward the author or give curation rewards.

👍 There is always a need for dusters like @dustsweeper and @dustbunny 😀

Tribe, that's a HE token right?
If so, it's completely separate as the value is only based on your token staked and not relevant to your staked HIVE. Not sure though if there is a similar minimum payout threshold.

Arg! Thank you very much for the clarification @danielsaori! I was operating under an incorrect assumption based on a post I read about HF26, where the author aparently misundstood what it actually was. I apologize for giving incorrect information! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

You are welcome. I understand it's a bit confusing and the terminology used doesn't really help. Dustsweeper and dustbunny are pushing votes above the "dust payout threshold", $0.02, but technically this is referred to as the minimum payout threshold.

I think officially the word "dust" is only used in term "dust votes", which refers to extremely small individual votes.

0

0.000
avatar

I was pretty clear on all that, but I remember distinctly reading in that post that I mentioned, the author saying that the change 'made all votes count', which thinking about it now, does not mean that it makes all votes pay out. That was my confusion. Yep, it would seem then that most of my many votes that I cast per day are dust in and of themselves, without help. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I wonder why @dustsweeper isn't sweeping both my outgoing and incoming dust votes until reward payout time, even if I have more than 2.9 HIVE balance on the bot. 🤯😅

The @dustsweeper account can be programmed to vote in particular ways, such as only outgoing votes, only incoming votes, doing both but giving priority to outgoing or incoming votes. The dustbots seem to wait until just before payout time to do their voting. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I saw that the #dustsweeper Hive account's Voting Power right now is exactly at 100%. 🤔 If it isn't because the bot isn't working properly, hope it randomly votes the dustsweeper service users' posts (or comments) both as an bonus for the users and also make the bot's Hive account earn Hive Power from curation. 😅

If the #dustbunny bot would support that feature, then it would have difficulty keeping track of which delegation is for which other Hive account. 🤔 Maybe the Hive user should be allowed to send a Hive memo saying the exact amount or percentage of his or her Hive Power delegation to the dustbunny Hive account is for any given Hive user. 🤓

!PIZZA

While I can see the potential confusion, it does sound like a useful feature. There are all sorts of potentially useful features which could be added to Hive over time. I think that we should be able to delegate, or loan, HBD in Savings. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Some features on Hive were removed over time, such as the "reset account" (which existed before the Hive blockchain was forked from the previous blockchain) where any Hive account that didn't have any transaction for 6 months can be taken over by its reset account. 🤓 The reasons were legal and technical. 🤯😅

The owner of any Hive account was free to choose which its reset account is (and can be set to @null to essentially disable it). 🤔 However, it would have been hard to define what "user-initiated transaction" is, because a user may have already lost his or her Hive account keys but autovoting dapps (such as #HiveVote) still work on the account. 🤯😅

Ah, OK, so it was similar to what is called a recovery account today. Ah, yes, indeed. There are people that have died, and yet their accounts are still voting every day, as a part of curation trails. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

A recovery account of a Hive account is useful only within 30 days of changing the owner key of the Hive account and the user of that account still has access to its private owner key. 🤓 The recovery account can initiate a change of owner key, no matter how many times the Hive account publishes transactions or changes its private keys. 😏

I believe that the recovery account you choose for your Hive account(s) should be all of the following: 🤓

  1. not your own Hive account (because all the Hive accounts on your devices might be compromised at the same time)
  2. someone trustworthy (both in terms of character and technical skill)
  3. someone you can call on quickly when you need to recover your Hive account(s)

I mean that the large amount of rain creates very humid conditions, and the moisture in the air causes the internal components of electronic devices to deteriorate, which makes them cease to function. Before the 26th Hive Hard Fork, every vote has a deduction of 50 million "rshares", and that can be called "individual dust vote" that will be dusted (gone). 🤓 That's different from what can be called "collective dust votes" which when less than $0.02 in total, will be dusted too. 😅

Perhaps "awoken" people gently nudging other people to (at least try to) wake them would speed up the process of "humanity's awakening". 🧘‍♂️😎

Indeed, and many are doing exactly that, to the best of their ability. I'm less direct about it usually now. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I see that you still (highly) prefer the "gently nudging" route. 🤓 It's good to avoid people who would react (negatively) when directing them to "good". 🧘‍♂️😏

Indeed, especially when they don't recognize that it's good. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Let's hope that those people don't have to experience "bitter lessons" from experience which is the best teacher like what @silvertop said 2 months ago. 🧘‍♂️

Unfortunately experience is indeed the best teacher, as we've both said. Awareness now is a necessity, not a luxury. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I thought I would see the word "bitter" or "harsh" before the word "experience" when I saw the word "unfortunately" at the beginning of your comment. 🤯

It reminds me of the saying "life is what happens while you are not aware of your surroundings", such as when someone is too focused on their smartphone. 🧘‍♂️

Well, it would be great if people were able to actually learn from other people's experiences, or being taught, but that is not usually the case. Some people don't even learn from experience, they just keep doing the same thing over, and over, and over. I would call that more 'unconsciousness' than 'life'. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

That seems to fit your description of Zombies. 🧟‍♂️🧟‍♀️

Perhaps the reason why Zombies absolutely "want brains" is because they "do not have" (or "no longer have") (a functional) one. 🧠🤯

Bingo on both counts. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I got curious about whether there is such a thing as "half-Zombie". 👨🧟‍♂️🤯😅

There are hordes of half-zombies, but thankfully many of them wake up. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Thanks !INDEED for the answer, but what exactly is a "half-zombie"? 👨🧟‍♂️🤯😅

Someone who's going through the motions, on auto-pilot, but that isn't too far gone. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

In that case, a "half-zombie" or a human who has started to gradually become a "zombie" has the "zombification" still (completely) reversible. 🧟‍♂️👨😅

Yep, but there are no guarantees that it will be reversed. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I think that the willpower of the "half-zombie" to "become human" again determines most (if not all) of the reversibility. 🧘‍♂️🧟‍♂️👨😅

Yep, I'd say that's true. Determination is a powerful thing. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
