I Am #AliveAndThriving Today! || #IAmAliveChallenge || Daily Off-Grid Jungle Journal Entry: Day #993 - 9,400 HP Surpassed, and the Estranged Blockchain Family - GaiaYoga Gardens, Lower Puna, Far East Big Island, Hawai'i - Wednesday, April 17, 2025

I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 6 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙

I'm happy to say that I crossed the threshold of 9,400 Hive Power late yesterday afternoon, right on schedule, as is usually the case. It was only last week that I passed 9,300 HP, so I had a notable uptick in HP growth. With my recent deeper investments into BXT, DUO, and now ARMERO too, my daily and weekly HIVE income got a helpful boost, which means that I'll have more to power up for future HPUDs. My asset-leveraging and investments are providing me with periodic influxes of large amounts of SWAP.HIVE liquidity, which I've been using to inrease the depth of my stake in various great diesel/liquidity pools, and to acquire more solid income tokens that pay out HIVE. Many liquidity pools have SWAP.HIVE as a reward, so aside from BBH, they are the best source of passive income in that valuable asset. Being able to invest in layer-2 tokens that give me ever-more liquid HIVE is an effective way to accelerate my HP growth over time, as it certainly adds up.

I've been talking about my recent very good experiences with getting started on Blurt, as well as my intention to get my Steem account to useful place, so that I may republish my Hive posts on both of those related blockchains (with sources). I never gave Blurt or Steem a try up until now because, well, I started on Hive, and they are often not seen in a very good light here. With Steem, it's certainly understandable, given Hive's whole reason for coming into being as a fork from that chain. While I'm no fan of Justin Sun, or of Steemit, I came to realize that there is an active, passionate, and sincere community of people there as well, and the base blockchain level of Steem is still useful, so I decided to put my preconceived ideas aside, so that I could take a closer look, and get some personal experience.

Blurt is also a fork of Steem, so it's a sibling to Hive, that was born just a little later in 2020, and although I've known about it for a good while, it is only now that I've been feeling called to get oriented there, to get to know the community (of which there are many Hivers and Steemians), and to begin growing both my relationships and my assets. Getting started on Blurt is very easy indeed, and I felt strongly supported right from the start. Steem, on the other hand, is a whole different animal. There is the usual introduction post, along with Steemit's several-month Newcomer Certification program, which makes the process a fair bit more involved and time-consuming than it is on either Blurt or Hive. While that certification is not a mandatory requirement, it is strongly suggested as a way to start well on Steem. I'll likely choose to go through it, but slowly over time.

Steem, Hive, and Blurt seem like an estranged family to me, with quite a bit of dissonance between them. My desire and intention to create a cross-/multi-blockchain communiity impels me to work to resolve this dissonance, and to bring the family back together. Just to be clear regarding Steem, I'm focused on the community and the blockchain, not Steemit, the dominant frontend, since that (as far as I know) is controlled by Justin Sun. Unfortunately Steemit is the primary way to interact with the Steem blockchain, so it's seemingly necessary non-ideal compromise that I'll likely have to make to get established there.

Both the differences and the similarities between Blurt, Hive, and Steem are striking indeed, as is usually the case within families, even their blockchain counterparts. I've found really wonderful people, including those that are loyal to only one blockchain, as well as those (like me) that have a blockchain main home, but who are active on two or all of them, which I absolutely love, and which is what is motivating me to work on creating bridges between them, one step at a time.

Yesterday, Wednesday, after finishing up my Hive tasks, I prepared for a session at 1:30. Once the session ended just before 6PM, I headed to the Landing to collect my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge, and then I returned immediately to the Flow House, to dive into my evening Hive tasks, and to catch up on my notifications. I got everything done by just after 11:15PM, and after some asset management, responding to notifications on Blurt, and looking into how to get started on Steem, I finally went to bed, just before 12:45PM. I woke up around 7:15AM, still feeling that I needed more sleep, doing more asset management, starting on this post, and then getting out of bed around 8:30AM to go make my superfood fire coffee in the Landing, before making my way back to the Flow House to write this post. It's now just before 1:45PM, so a very good time to end this post, so that I may get to my few other important Hive tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to focus first on photography for these posts and for my entry in the Shadow Hunters Contest, straining and blending kefir (kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao), and then community/land work. 2025 Life Goals

1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.

2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.

3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.

4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
