I Am #AliveAndThriving Today! || #IAmAliveChallenge || Daily Off-Grid Jungle Journal Entry: Day #536 - I Took a Closer Look at Steem; Hive Is Still Better! - GaiaYoga Gardens, Lower Puna, Far East Big Island, Hawai'i - Monday, January 15, 2024

I live barefooted and naked, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i. I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙

So a few days ago, mostly because I wanted to be able to claim STEEM dividends on Kryptogamers.com (to be able to send to Hive), just like I do HIVE dividends, I created a Steem account. With this new Steem account I took the opportunity to have a look around, and to take a bit of a closer look, at this progenitor blockchain.

I was exploring via the Steemit front-end, so I have no idea how it looks via others. It is so fascinating to see how similar it is to Hive in several respects, which makes sense since Hive code is based on Steem code. What was also very interesting to me was just how different Steem is from Hive.

I do have to say that I definitely had the feeling of 'being behind enemy lines' as I poked around, getting a very creepy vibe. When I first logged in, I was prompted to create a TRON account, which was as unsurprising as it was weird. It's very clear indeed that Steemit is a corporation.

Even in the short time that I was exploring, it became very obvious to me that Hive is better in many important ways. I far prefer how Hive does wallets compared to Steem. Hive has a layer 2, Hive Engine, which seems to be completely lacking in Steem. Hive is also far more decentralized than Steem is, and has no corporate ownership or leadership, like Steem does.

If I were to have found Steem and Hive at the same time 2+ years ago, I am quite certain that I would have chosen Hive over Steem in a heart beat! Knowing what I know now, of course, there's no contest! It's Hive all the way for me!

Yesterday, Monday, I left the Flow House a little later than I have been lately, just after 2:30PM, mostly because I was held up a bit by attending the Leadership Council meeting in the morning. Since I had taken all the photos for this post in the morning, I could dive right into land work. As usual lately, I collected a wheelbarrow full of assorted edible tree foliage for cow-milking food, and then I did some paid work weeding in Ano's nursery. I had intended to get a few other things done, but that didn't happen unfortunately.

Once work was done, I took a shower, strained out kefir for my kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao blend, made myself food, then I headed back to the Flow House for my evening round of Hive tasks and catching up on my abundant notifications, which I finished just before 10:45PM. I did a round of token management, then I went to bed. I slept well until around 3AM, then I couldn't get back to sleep, so I did another round of token management, tried unsuccessfully to sleep again, then finally got out of bed to go make my superfood fire coffee around 8AM. It was rainy and windy early in the morning, and now it's dry and sunny, but with intense winds. I'm praying that the Flow House holds together well.

It's just past 12:45PM, so an excellent time to end this post, so that I can get to my essential Hive tasks, before leaving the Flow House in the later afternoon, to first take photos for tomorrow's version of this post, and then land work. 2024 Life Goals

1.) Heal my broken heart. 

2.) Bring myself and my life back into balance, integration, and wholeness, and do regular integral practices. 

3.) Make my plant nursery beautiful again. 

4.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again. 

5.) Continue my work with Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, Bastyon, and other sovereignty-driven technologies, as well as learn relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute. 

6.) Get regular healing sessions with women flowing again.
