I Am #AliveAndThriving Today! || #IAmAliveChallenge || Daily Off-Grid Jungle Journal Entry: Day #486 - How Best to Use My New Dolphin-Level Hive Power - GaiaYoga Gardens, Lower Puna, Far East Big Island, Hawai'i - Saturday, November 25, 2023
I live barefooted and naked, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i. I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙
Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
In four days time I will be doing my giant #HPUD powerup to dolphin 🐬 level, and as you might guess, I'm super excited, especially considering that the amount that I'm powering up is just a little less than my total present Hive Power! With such a large addition to my HP, and my goal to keep my HP delegation percentage at 50%, after I power up I'm going to have a sizeable portion of new Hive Power to delegate.
Present Hive Power Delegations
Delegated: 1,491 HP
@brofi 183.233 HP
@dhedge 183.233 HP
@ecency 208.184 HP
@eds-vote 183.233 HP
@heartbeatonhive 183.233 HP
@stickupcurator 183.233 HP
@thisisawesome 183.233 HP
@youarealive 183.233 HP
My first order of operation after reaching dolphin level will be to make all of my HP delegations even, which they mostly are, apart from @ecency, and to give them all a good boost. My second task will be to add some new curation accounts. This is where I'd love to ask for some suggestions of good community curation accounts that do a lot of good for the Hive community, and that provide a good benefit to delegators.
At the moment I'm considering adding @benthomaswwd's @pulsation (this one is definite), @lolzbot, and @pgm-curator, but I'd love to know of other great ones! I've thought about some of the larger curation accounts, but my preference is to give the smaller accounts priority, to help spread the Hive Power out across the Ecosystem a bit more.
As I've discussed previously, my desire, intention, and goal with everything that I do on Hive, including my HP delegations, is to create Maximum Mutual Benefit (MMB), so when I choose new accounts, I want ones that do notable good in the community, and that provide good benefits to their delegators. This is a further investment for me in our glorious Blockchain Ecosystem, and one that I'm grateful to be able to make, as it's very win-win-win (for me, for the delegation accounts, and for the Hive community) all around! That's beautiful to me, and I look forward to doing much more as my account continues to grow!
I was able to finish all of my Hive tasks and catch-up yesterday afternoon by around 2:30PM, earlier than usual, which allowed me to give more time to working on the land. When I left the Flow House, I spent a short time walking around the property to take photos for this post, since I wasn't able to do so in the morning. When I was ready to put my focus on land work, I started by grabbing and sharpening my machete, then collecting a wheelbarrow full of Melochia leaves for the next morning's cow-milking food. Once I had that task finished, I walked around with Ano in his nursery, so that he could show me some new paid work to do. I ended up taking 35 white mulberry cuttings and potting them up. I also had to clear an area in the nursery to put them, and move them there, so the whole process took a little over an hour. When I finished in Ano's nursery, I did some trail clearing with my machete until sunset.
With land work finished for the day, I took a shower, strained out more kefir for my kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao blend, made myself some food, got my kitty friend some food, then I made my way back to the Flow House for my evening round of Hive catch-up and tasks, which I completed just before 11:30PM, heading to bed soon after. I slept well until just before 4AM, and not being able to sleep for a bit, I put my time to good use by doing a little token management on Hive, and then completing @benthomaswwd's @heartbeatonhive contest, before going back to sleep until 8:30AM, which is when I got out of bed to go make my superfood fire coffee.
The storage space on my phone has been near full for a while, and I had to spend a fair bit of time this morning going through and deleting photos that I don't need. I still need to do more of that to be able to take more photos, and to be able to update my installed apps. It's annoying, but necessary.
The time is just past 12:30PM, so I'll wrap up this post now, so that I can get to my long and thorough round of Sunday Hive catch-up and tasks, including more thorough token management, before finally beginning to compile and write my 78th Sunday Hive Goals and Progress Update, which I'll publish later tonight, just before bed. I also have to take a little time to take photos for the next incarnation of this post for tomorrow, get cow food, strain out and blend kefir, and make myself some food, which I'm hoping I can finish quickly, so that I can devote most of my time to my Hive tasks. I deeply appreciate you all so very much! Until that post tonight, and the next iteration of this post tomorrow! Onward and upward, joyfully together! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
All photos were taken with my Motorola G Power Android Phone.
Thank you all so much who have helped me get to where I am today, and allowing me to share more of the beauty and magic from my life and my world with you, and for your continuous appreciation and support! I am truly deeply grateful! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

If I may suggest a delegation to @family-friends, they exclusively curate family friendly posts, which I think the blockchain could benefit from more posts like these.
Thank you so much for that, Benjamin! I appreciate it! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
That makes sense, I like delegating to @dustsweeper to help power this service which ensures comments still reward. Users bank some HIVE with dustsweeper which is used to administer dusty upvotes on comments that are less than $0.02 (which do not reward) bringing them over $0.02, so they are not lost. These tiny fractions of rewards pay off over time, since starting I've saved over $16 in rewards. Not only does this help people recover their "dust", dustsweeper shares their curation rewards with delegators. It's a WIN-WIN!
That's very cool, Benjamin! Yes, I've had that account and one other similar one upvoting my comments. That is a good suggestion! How much do you delegate for those kind of returns?
One important thing, though, since HF26 all upvotes pay out, not just those of .02 or greater. That's a big reason that I changed how I vote, and now upvote all posts on which I comment at 10%, and all comments and replies at 5%. I was wondering what the dustsweeper accounts were going to so after HF26, but they seem to have just continued on their merry dustsweeping way! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
I delegate about 500 HP ($180 USD) to dustsweeper and averages about $1.50/month returns, paying daily in both liquid HIVE and HBD. It's about 10% APR.
Huh! I didn't know that! It's a good change, but it does make dustsweeper sort of pointless. Thankfully it's still functional and rewarding a share of it's curations.
OK, that's excellent! Thanks so much for the info!
I just saw @danielsaori's comment below, so I have to apologize to you for giving inaccurate information. I originally got it from someone's post on the features of HF26, where he apparently misunderstood what the change actually meant. So the .02 rule for payouts is still in operation.
I so far know of two dust services on Hive, this one that you mentioned, and @dustbunny, that has upvoted many of my comments. There are likely others too. I'm looking at @dustsweeper now, and I see you can send or delegate HIVE to it, which is interesting. So there's two aspects of what it does. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
HF26 changed how dust votes are handled, ensuring that all votes, no matter how small, are recorded on the blockchain. However, it’s important to note that the minimum payout threshold of $0.02 still applies. If the total rewards for a post or comment don’t reach this threshold by the payout day, both author and curator rewards will not be issued.
@ironshield
Thank you for this, I went through 8 day old comments with $0.01 or less and saw there were no HIVE or HBD rewards, so it does appear there is still a $0.02 threshold. But tribe rewards still payed!
It apprears there is still a need for @dustsweeper. It would seem a shame to lower VP (even a little) to upvote a comment that does not reward the author or give curation rewards.
I apologize again for giving erroneous information, @ironshield! I stand corrected today! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
👍 There is always a need for dusters like @dustsweeper and @dustbunny 😀
Tribe, that's a HE token right?
If so, it's completely separate as the value is only based on your token staked and not relevant to your staked HIVE. Not sure though if there is a similar minimum payout threshold.
Arg! Thank you very much for the clarification @danielsaori! I was operating under an incorrect assumption based on a post I read about HF26, where the author aparently misundstood what it actually was. I apologize for giving incorrect information! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
You are welcome. I understand it's a bit confusing and the terminology used doesn't really help. Dustsweeper and dustbunny are pushing votes above the "dust payout threshold", $0.02, but technically this is referred to as the minimum payout threshold.
I think officially the word "dust" is only used in term "dust votes", which refers to extremely small individual votes.
I was pretty clear on all that, but I remember distinctly reading in that post that I mentioned, the author saying that the change 'made all votes count', which thinking about it now, does not mean that it makes all votes pay out. That was my confusion. Yep, it would seem then that most of my many votes that I cast per day are dust in and of themselves, without help. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
I wonder why @dustsweeper isn't sweeping both my outgoing and incoming dust votes until reward payout time, even if I have more than 2.9 HIVE balance on the bot. 🤯😅
@tydynrain !PIZZA
The @dustsweeper account can be programmed to vote in particular ways, such as only outgoing votes, only incoming votes, doing both but giving priority to outgoing or incoming votes. The dustbots seem to wait until just before payout time to do their voting. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
!PIZZA
I am aware of the ININ, INOUT, OUTIN, and OUTOUT modes, but I don't know why neither my incoming nor outgoing dust votes are getting swept. 🤯 None of my dust votes getting swept also has the effect of my dustsweeper balance not getting reduced. 😅
!LOLZ !LUV
OK, good to hear. Well, given that so many tipping bots are having issues as of late, it's reasonable to think that @dustsweeper might be having problems too. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
!WEED
I saw that the #dustsweeper Hive account's Voting Power right now is exactly at 100%. 🤔 If it isn't because the bot isn't working properly, hope it randomly votes the dustsweeper service users' posts (or comments) both as an bonus for the users and also make the bot's Hive account earn Hive Power from curation. 😅
!WEED !LUV
Hrmmm...I'm guessing it's not working then. I did see at least one upvote from @dustsweeper, so it's working to some degree at least. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
!LUV
!WEED
I notice fewer dust votes (both incoming and outgoing) being swept for me by the #dustsweeper bot, but that also makes my dustsweeper balance last longer. 🤔🤯😅

If the #dustbunny bot would support that feature, then it would have difficulty keeping track of which delegation is for which other Hive account. 🤔 Maybe the Hive user should be allowed to send a Hive memo saying the exact amount or percentage of his or her Hive Power delegation to the dustbunny Hive account is for any given Hive user. 🤓
!PIZZA
While I can see the potential confusion, it does sound like a useful feature. There are all sorts of potentially useful features which could be added to Hive over time. I think that we should be able to delegate, or loan, HBD in Savings. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
!PIZZA
Some features on Hive were removed over time, such as the "reset account" (which existed before the Hive blockchain was forked from the previous blockchain) where any Hive account that didn't have any transaction for 6 months can be taken over by its reset account. 🤓 The reasons were legal and technical. 🤯😅

The owner of any Hive account was free to choose which its reset account is (and can be set to @null to essentially disable it). 🤔 However, it would have been hard to define what "user-initiated transaction" is, because a user may have already lost his or her Hive account keys but autovoting dapps (such as #HiveVote) still work on the account. 🤯😅

A recovery account of a Hive account is useful only within 30 days of changing the owner key of the Hive account and the user of that account still has access to its private owner key. 🤓 The recovery account can initiate a change of owner key, no matter how many times the Hive account publishes transactions or changes its private keys. 😏

I believe that the recovery account you choose for your Hive account(s) should be all of the following: 🤓

Maybe you should create another Hive account which you would use as the recovery account of your two Hive accounts (one which you use daily, and one which you use only for #HiveEngine trading). 🤔🤓
!PIZZA !LUV
Hrmmm...that is not a bad idea. Now I just have to make time to create another Hive account, and then to change my two recovery accounts listed. Perhaps I'll do that soon. Thanks for the suggestion! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
!LUV
!PIZZA
Remember to store the private keys of that new Hive account which you will use as recovery account in a safe place, outside the devices which you normally use. 🤓😏
!PIZZA
Ideed, I make sure that my keys are well secured, given their extreme importance! I oniy have two devices from which I access Hive, or my accounts, my phone and my laptop. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
PIZZA
Maybe you want to use an old device as an "air-gapped" (no Internet connection at all) storage for your most important blockchain private keys. 🤔🤓
!PIZZA !LUV
That's a great idea, but they'd have to remain plugged into an electrical source. Electronics that don't have a near-constant electrical field running through them tend to die very quickly indeed. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
!LUV
!PIZZA
I wonder if what you mean with "die very quickly" is that the device will just quickly run out of battery if not plugged in, or if it will no longer become inoperable faster the longer it is unplugged? 🤔🤯😅
!LUV
!PIZZA
I mean that the large amount of rain creates very humid conditions, and the moisture in the air causes the internal components of electronic devices to deteriorate, which makes them cease to function. The only thing that stops it, or at least msssively slows it down is to keep devices plugged in and on. My computer runs 24/7. My phone too. Same thing with my two routers. They live because they're always on. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

You just need to make sure that your old phone doesn't and won't have any connection, so that you can maximize the security of your blockchain wallet keys. 🤓😏
Anyway, I wonder what keeps you from moving photos from that phone to somewhere else. 🤔😅
!BEER
The only way it can connect now is via wifi, which I usually keep turned off on my router and on my phone.
Because I still have to find a place for them, aside from just sitting on one of my three hard drives. There's a few steps to it, and since it's not very high on my list of priorities, it hasn't gotten done yet. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
!BEER
Hope that when you are storing (really) important cryptocurrency wallet keys (such as for your cold wallets) on your phone that can connect to wifi, the WiFi doesn't suddenly get turned on for some unexpected reason. 🤔
Anyway, I think that smartphones should be used for another purpose other than storing precious crypto keys. 🤯😅
Let me try !LOLZ together with !BEER and another !LOLZ. 🤔😏
Well, I don't have any cold wallets, mostly because physical objects degrade quite quickly here, especially technology, as I mentioned before. Neither the wifi on my router, nor on my old phone, are left turned on by default, and they don't turn themselves on. Nobody else has physical access to them.
I would agree, as it seems like a rather notable waste of a multi-functional device.
Well, the !BEER command worked that time! !LOLZ is very sadly down for the count yet again. sigh 😁🙏💚✨🤙
Hope you can keep your crypto keys safe from getting either lost or stolen, despite the moisture where you live not quite friendly for electronic devices. 🤗🤓
I meant that a smartphone is not that durable enough relative to a desktop or laptop computer, not that it would be restricted to a single purpose. 🤯 A laptop is even more versatile than a smartphone, though you can't fit it in your pocket. 😅
Maybe the BEER bot and !LOLZ bot are friends! 😆😅
!WEED
Yep, me too. I definitely won't lose them, and so far nobody has stolen them. Someone would have to gain access to my computer's hard drive for that to happen. I store them in three zero-knowledge encrypted online locations, two of which also connect to my computer.
Well, if they're not yet, they should be! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
!LOLZ
!VSC
Do you mean that nobody has ever stolen any of your crypto keys yet? 🤔🤯
Let me test !BEER with !LOLZ and another !BEER this time! 😅
Yep, correct, my keys have been safe and sound for years now.
!BEER worked yet again, excellent! !LOLZ, however, is not so lucky! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Before the 26th Hive Hard Fork, every vote has a deduction of 50 million "rshares", and that can be called "individual dust vote" that will be dusted (gone). 🤓 That's different from what can be called "collective dust votes" which when less than $0.02 in total, will be dusted too. 😅

Oh so much dust lost into the wind! If layer-2 tokens can pay out even if the vote is under 0.02, then I think that should be what happens with HIVE too. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Creators of second-layer Hive tokens (such as tokens on #HiveEngine, #Honeycomb, and #VaultecSmartChain) can make their own rules regarding how their respective token is awarded. 🤔🤓

The most active Hivean and friend I know🏆
A job well done on being super active on hive with resonating beautiful dreams and plans as you take every stride of step to achieving your goals.
I like the idea of delegating to groups that assist new hivians with quality posts hence giving them the encouragement to keep growing progressively.
The pictures taken are beautiful and your progress a lovely and admirable. Keep up the great job🤩 ✨💕
Awww...you're such a sweetie, Whitney! I do my best! I see what's possible on Hive, and I give it the full power of my focused energy to build and create something incredible here!
Yes, delegating to community-curation accounts is win-win for everyone, and for Hive as a whole, so it's a very good thing! Plus, many of the give daily or weekly payouts to delegators in HIVE and/or other tokens.
Thank you so very much, dear, for your kind words, and for your appreciation! Oh, you know it, there ain't nothin' gonna stop me! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
Yes, we are counting down to the big day 🎉
I think I have to recheck my delegations and add few more communities.
Nice job with your account dear.
The tangerine caught my attention, will need some 😩
You got that right, dear! The big day is to tomorrow my time! I'm so excited!
That's a great idea! Delegating to community-curation accounts is very win-win for everyone involved, and for Hive as a whole! Thank you so very much, @jmis101! It's amazing to see my account growing the way it is!
Haha...I understand, they're yummy! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
Yay.
It's tomorrow.
Thank you very much dear.
Truly, it's a win-win.
Sweet tangerine 😋
Enjoy 😊
Yahooey! I'll probably do it later in the afternoon or early evening, when I have more relaxed time.
Of course, you're deeply welcome, dear! Yes, it very much is!
Haha...yep, they sure are! Thanks much again, dear! Have a glorious Thursday! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Happy new month dear

😅
Alright dear
😁🙏💚✨🤙

Hi, what is the white and black fruit/flower in the last picture? It's very pretty. :D
That's katuk, or Asian sweet leaf, Sauropus androgynus. Here it's used as a high-protein edible green. While the fruit are edible, they're pretty tasteless. It is a very pretty plant, that also grows very vigorously, seeding itself all over the place! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
Okay, I know about the tangerine. Are the two other things that look like fruits edible?
Yep, they're both edible. The round, brown fruit are longons, and they are similar to rambutan or lychees. The last one is katuk, also called Asian sweet leaf, Sauropus androgynus. The fruit, while edible, are not very palatable. It's used here as a high-protein edible green. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
Oh interesting. Thanks for the lesson💕✨
Most definitely, Whitney, it's always my deep honor, pleasure, and privilege to share the magic of plants! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
Delegating to community account shows your love for fellow hivers.
Thank you so much for that, @ijelady! Delegating to community-curation accounts is good for everyone, it's very win-win! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
I will be following your lead boss
That's very kind to say, @oasiskp2! I think you're doing great! The more we grow, the more we benefit, yes, and the more we will be able to help others! That's super motivating to me! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
You are right, we continue to grow.
Yep, and help others grow. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
