I Am #AliveAndThriving Today! || #IAmAliveChallenge || Daily Off-Grid Jungle Journal Entry: Day #435 - Hive Proves Itself Every Day! - GaiaYoga Gardens, Lower Puna, Far East Big Island, Hawai'i - Thursday, October 5, 2023

I live barefooted and naked, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i. I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙

In these posts over the past two days I've drawn attention to a notable weak point in Hive's functioning, the dependence on the 13 centrally-controlled ICANN authoritative root DNS servers, and a possible solution. While this issue is of critical importance, and it definitely should be addressed, the one thing I will say is that I have faith in Hive, in its many amazing developers, and in the Hive community, and regardless of what challenges appear on our path, I know that we will overcome and surmount them.

Hive was born out of the community response to a hostile takeover of the former blockchain, which was a powerful proof of the community's ability to
cooperate, organize, adapt, improvise, and to take their power back. That origin is important, because from it we now have a far stronger and more resilient Blockchain Ecosystem. Hive and its community has indeed proven itself very capable of meeting unforseen challenges and obstacles.

This is why I'm certain that even if the DNS vulnerability vector where exploited, and Hive websites could no longer be accessed in the usual way, that this challenge would be met by the community and the dev teams in a quick, efficient, and effective way. Where there is great love, as there is with the Hive community, a way will always be found. I'm certain of that.

Every attack, challenge, and obstacle that we successfully meet and overcome makes Hive stronger, more resilient, and more unstoppable. Hive was born battle-tested, and the difficulties that we as a Blockchain community face are like stones in a tumbler, polishing Hive ever-more into a radiant precious gem of immeasurable value. So yeah, bring on the challenges! We will adapt, improvise, and overcome, always!

I was able to get Hive to a good pause-point, and leave the Flow House to go so some land work, by about 3:30PM yesterday. I've been getting into the habit of doing the most important and essential things first, then leaving everything else for my evening round of catch-up and tasks. This has generally been working pretty well, though some nights, like last night, I was struggling to stay awake to finish everything. Some days, like Sunday (when I compile and write my giant Sunday Weekly Hive Goals and Progress Update), this would not work, however, as it would leave far too much for me to do in the evening. So I need to make sure to stay more caught up on Sundays. The rest of the week I'll do essentials first, then leave the rest for my evening round.

After leaving the Flow House yesterday, and after walking around to take photos for this post, I put my focus on doing some weeding in my nursery, which very much needs it. Once I finished that, I planted three trees that I had grown from seed, two mountain apples and one mamey apple, out in the 400 acres on the edge of GaiaYoga Gardens, with @aukuna and his friend Adam. Getting those trees in the ground in the semi-wild area next to GaiaYoga felt really good, as the two mountain apples really needed to be planted. We plan to plant many more food trees in this area in the coming months.

After finishing with tree planting, I took a shower, made food in the Landing, then I headed back to the Flow House for my evening Hive round, which took me until just after 11:30PM to complete. I had one more thing to complete, Ben's @heartbeatonhive contest, that I was too sleepy to do last night, so I did that this morning before I got out of bed. I slept well last night, very thankfully, and I feel good this morning. Aside from Ben's contest, I also did a round of token management.

It's getting close to 1PM, so I'll end this post for now, so that I can get to my afternoon round on Hive, which I'll do my best to wrap up as early as I'm able again. Elohi asked me if I would help him and his mother Melekai in the garden next to Tutu's, so as soon as I get done my stuff here, I'll head there to lend my assistance for a while.
