I Am #AliveAndThriving Today! || #IAmAliveChallenge || Daily Off-Grid Jungle Journal Entry: Day #331 - Hive and the Unstoppable (R)Evolution - GaiaYoga Gardens, Lower Puna, Far East Big Island, Hawai'i - Friday, June 23, 2023
I live barefooted and naked, very close to Earth and Nature, in a 16-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i. I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙
Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
Hive is part of a massive global revolution taking root and spreading everywhere, that is really an evolution of consciousness, this Great Awakening, sweeping the human collective in unstoppable waves. This is part of why this glorious Blockchain is so exciting to me, and why I give so much of myself to it every day. It's the technological expression of a shift in awareness, and it's brilliant.
Centralized authorities are losing power everywhere, as people see ever-more clearly every day that those in positions of power do not have their best interests in mind; quite the opposite! People are awakening to the absolute necessity of self-responsibility, self-determination, self-sufficiency, and self-reliance; in short, sovereignty.
On Hive you and I are responsible for everything. It's direction, expression, and fate are in our hands. There is nobody from 'on high' to tell us how things are going to be. We decide. That's both exciting and daunting, and oh so important.
As a self-governed blockchain nation Hive is still quite new, though even in the three years since the hard fork from Steem, it's become something quite extraordinary. And what Hive is now is only the barest beginning of what it could be, with ever-greater potentials unfolding, as our social intelligence coalesces and gains coherence. What exists now, while utterly amazing, is but a shadow of what could be, and what will be, as we continue to take ever-greater responsibility in our beloved Blockchain. You and me. It's up to us. What do we want Hive to become?
This post was begun last night, but after a wave of sleepiness overcame me, I continue with it this morning. Marko and the kids were off-property for most of the early portion of the day, so I was able to focus on Hive in my usual morning-to-late-afternoon cadence. Thankfully I was able to catch up on everything somewhat early.
After finishing my Hive catch up, I weeded in the fenced garden for a while, until I cut my hand on cane grass that is. I've definitely learned to not try to pull cane grass without gloves, but I still do it here and there. Sometimes it bites back. The cut was not deep, but it did take off the first layer of skin on my left ring finger. I washed it and put on a bandaid so that I could keep working.
Thankfully I could still use my machete pretty well, so I cleared the sides of the trail between the pool and the main trail, as it was getting a bit overgrown again. My hand continued to bleed a little bit through the bandaid, but not too bad.
Marko and the kids came back by the time I finished my machete work, so I took a quick shower, and went to the Landing to greet them. Aloha and Mahina wanted me to spend some time with them, since they I couldn't before they left in the morning. I tried to get them interested in helping me do more weeding in the fenced garden, but they didn't have much stamina for that, so we ended up going to see the Icelandic horses again. They've both become quite comfortable riding them. It helps that they're super mellow horses.
After visiting with the horses for a little while, I took the kidos back to the Landing, and made myself food. Aloha and Mahina were a little sad that we didn't have as much time today to do fun things, but I told them we could make up for it the next day (today).
Once I had my food and kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao blend in hand, I returned to the Flow House to dive into another round of Hive catch-up and tasks, and then finally I began writing this post. It's at that point that the wave of sleep hit me, and I just had to go to bed. Very thankfully I slept well.
It's now just about 7:45AM, with me still in bed as I write this, and Azul (my adorable gray cat friend) snuggled up next to me. I think it's time to start my day, so I'll end this post now so that I can do one quick round on Hive, then go to make my superfood fire coffee. I deeply appreciate you all! Until tonight! Onward and upward, together! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

That's so true! Hive is part of a bigger movement of consciousness evolving across the globe. It's amazing to be part of something so transformative, and I love that Hive is the technological embodiment of this shift. It's exciting to see the impact it's making!

About time, too! Vive la révolution!
I'm re-reading Greg Egan's novel Distress today. Part of it takes place on an artificial island called Stateless, which reminds me very much of Hive. There are some basic rules that everybody follows but no laws per se, the population consists of people who want the freedom to rule themselves and understand that anarchy means "no ruler" not "no rules," and apart from the basic rules you are free to join one or more syndicates where people work together, maybe in food production, maybe in discovering how fish think, or whatever and those syndicatess may have added extra rules like "never wear shoes when walking on grass" or more serious ones like "the income from our strawberries shall be divided in this and that way" etc. The economy of all the syndicates is public, so anyone can go online and see if they do what they claim to do, or just try to amass riches for a few. And if you don't like how something is done, speak up! Do something about it! Figure out something better! Or just shut up and let people live their lives, if what they do doesn't really affect you.
Oh indeed, yes, it is so about time for sure! That book sounds fascinating! I love the idea. It does sound a lot like Hive! It's funny that true human freedom is so unusual that it is the subject of science fiction. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
