Planting Season Is Here Again
Hi Hivers,
It is another that amazing time to get back straight to the work on farm and to share some of my activities on the farm with amazing people on hive.
The planting season is finally back as we get to witnessed some heavy downpour in the recent days which means is time to plant those amazing crops and veggies and patiently wait for wonderful harvest time.
It been a while since I last get myself busy in the garden due to the end of planting season as it's stopped raining towards the end of last year. Though I try to raise some tomatoes and peppers during the dry season and I can say that I really had an amazing harvest but some of the pepper's and tomatoes plant later got burnout as time goes on due to proper lack of water supply.
I always love to get myself busy during the planting season by planting some crops because this always save me from unnecessary spending and I will get the chance to eat a firsthand and healthy food. Planting your own crops will always put you ahead of those who don't as you will be getting fresh and crops and veggies from your farm freely when others are looking for a means to buy those things in the market with their money.
Due to the recently heavy rain downpour, I realized that this is the best time to put my farming tools and myself back to work. During the planting season, the first crops that always comes to mind is the plantation of maize because of the great benefits that it possessed and the fact that it can be used to make different foods.
The last time I get to plant maize was last year when I took part in the #maizechallange initiated by @felixxx and I must say that I really had a bountiful harvest despite the small space used for the plantation to get myself involved in the contest.
Weekend is always the perfect day for me to keep myself busy with the farming stuff as I have been busy with my poultry farm business recently and other stuff. But since I have already get started with the planting season, I would like to share with you some of the activities I have done so far.
I have a little bit of more work to do with my farming for this year as I have more space to get myself involved with planting season compared to last year.
Clearing out some debris on the farm land is the first thing I have to do by using rake to gather those debris and removed it from the farm land.
After am done with the clearing out of the debris from the farm land then I started making ridges with my hoe and really take much of my time and most especially am kinda of exhausted after done with making ridges. Reason why I make ridges is because am planning on planting tuber crop like cassava in the future because maize doesn't require much ridges before planting.
The next thing I did was to sow the maize seeds which I believe will sprouts in the coming days and I also transplant some peppers plants before I called it a day.
That's some of the activities done in my farm for now as I will be updating you with more activities and the growth and development of my garden.
Thanks for visiting my blog and have a wonderful day

.That's great work my friend, but you have to make sure the pepper have enough water each day because is not too look healthy. You get it too old before you transplant it and if I'm not wrong some of the leafs are turning to yellow.
You really make a good effort tiling the soil. Keep the good work
Thanks so much.
Maize planting is here again, I wish you well this season.
Thanks so much
