The Red Church in Minsk

Hi!
This summer I traveled through the territory of the Republic of Belarus. I don't know if you've ever been there, but I've met a lot of beautiful places.
They attracted my attention not only for their architecture, but also for the careful and respectful attitude towards them on the part of the state and the inhabitants of the country.

There are many such places in the capital itself - the city of Minsk. For example, there is a beautiful church on Independence Square, which is called the Red One.

In fact, it is called the Church of St. Simeon and St. Helena. The temple was built for 5 years from 1905 to 1910.

The architect was the Pole Tomasz Payzdersky, and the sponsor was the Minsk nobleman Edward Voynilovich.
His two children, Elena and Simeon, died at an early age, so it was decided to name the church in honor of their saints.

In 1932, the temple was closed and various organizations were located within its walls.
And only in 1990 it was returned to the church again, miraculously avoiding complete destruction.

In 2022, a fire broke out in the church, as a result of which it was decided to ban church services in it. This situation has not been corrected so far.

And there is a beautiful temple, decorating Minsk and attracting numerous tourists.
He is waiting for his new resurrection.

Travel farther and longer!
