Porto Vathy beach, turquoise water, marble and sunshine on the island of Thassos(Greece)
Hello, travelers!
Today we will go together to discover a spectacular place, where wild nature blends perfectly with man-made nature.
We were staying in Limenaria, so the journey here was quite long, even though the distance was not that great, around 47 kilometers, and due to speed restrictions, it took us over an hour to cover this distance.
I had seen many pictures on the internet, so my expectations were quite high.
For those who visit the island and, of course, want to get to this beach, you should know that the last 4 kilometers are terrible, so you need to arm yourself with patience (that is, if you care about your car). Our car is a normal one, so with a little patience and a lot of dust, we managed to reach our destination.
In this area, we visited two beaches, one of the most famous beaches on the island of Thassos and the beach we are visiting today.
We visited Thassos Island in June, which is the off-season for tourism in Greece, so the island wasn't very crowded. We don't really like crowds, especially in the summer when it's very hot outside, and when the heat is combined with crowds, it's unpleasant for us.
There is no parking near Porto Vathy beach, so we parked the car on the side of the road. I kept wondering where dozens and hundreds of cars would be parked in this area during the busy season.
Being in the off-season, the main beach was not equipped, the only equipped areas were the private ones belonging to a luxury hotel, but being in the off-season, even the private beaches were not open to tourists.
As I wrote, only the private beaches were set up, but they were not open.
There is a marble quarry right next to the beach, so let's go visit it.
Huge blocks of marble waiting to be processed.
Dear visitors, I hope you enjoyed today's walk, during which we explored Porto Vathy beach on the island of Thassos.

From the pictures you shared, they are really very pleasant and the place is very beautiful even though I was not there. But I can feel how beautiful this place is.
Thassos Island is absolutely fabulous. I managed to explore most of it, but even so, I would return there with the same enthusiasm I had the first time.

Tanta belleza, es increible. Nunca he subido a un velero, como el que sale en tus fotos. Debe ser algo extraordinario.
La verdad es que la experiencia es increíble, gracias por pasar por aquí.
I didn’t expect to feel so calm just scrolling through this. The way the marble blends into the shore and how the light hits it—it’s oddly soothing. Feels like the kind of place you'd just sit in silence for a while without needing to say anything.
That's right, this place is not only about beaches but also about taking a break to actually sit and listen to the voice of nature. Thank you for stopping by.
Wow! The beach with its clear turquoise water is stunning. A blend of raw nature and the marble quarry is so unique!🤗
I'm glad you liked it and thank you for stopping by.
You're welcome!
😉
Wow, what a relaxing place. I really like the beach. Best wishes to you.
I'm glad you liked it and thank you for stopping by.
Cheers!
Wow, Porto Vathy looks like a hidden gem! The marble setting and turquoise water sound unreal. Love that you included tips for getting there, as it definitely feels worth the effort, especially without the crowds. Adding this to my Greece wishlist!
That's right, Porto Vathy is a hidden gem. What I don't understand is why everyone was crowding Marble Beach (I'll make a post about that too) and didn't bother to walk a few steps further where it wasn't so crowded.
Here you could sunbathe for free at Marble Beach, but you had to pay at least €30 to rent two sun loungers (and that was in the off-season).
By the way, how's your YouTube channel going?
A few days ago, I started a YouTube channel (mainly about travel). I'll mention it in my Hive posts (in case anyone is interested). The channel is called @2călătorișijumătate (if you're interested :)).
Thank you very much for stopping by.
Haven't really posted on my Travel Channel for a long while until last month. I have 2 or 3 more vids to be edited, but I am mainly focusing on my Gaming Channel, which got monetised after just 1 year and a bit of posting on it. I've had the Travel Channel for around 12 years now, and it's still not monetised, so I don't have much hope with that one anymore lol. Good luck with your channel!
You probably need to be much more consistent on your travel channel in order to monetize it at some point. I hope that with my channel, I will be able to bring it to the level where it generates income.
Thank you, and have a wonderful weekend.
Oh my, that's really fabulous! Visiting that stunning beach is totally worth it and satisfying. If I were given a chance to be there, I would definitely stay longer.
That's right, this place draws you in, so you want to stay there as long as possible. Thanks for stopping by.
Wow! Porto Vathy Beach sounds like a dreamy paradise! Turquoise water and marble elements create a picture of stunning natural beauty and maybe even luxurious touches.
The place is absolutely like something out of a story you never want to leave. Thank you so much for stopping by.
Why I always seing this kind of place, it makes me think how beautiful it is in person right? Lucky to you 😊
In reality, everything looks fabulous, and yes, we had an amazing experience.
