Oradea City Hall Tower, the giant that watches over the city
Hello travellers
Today I want to go together to climb one of the most important sights in Oradea, namely the City Hall Tower.
Oradea is a beautiful city (if you check my posts you will find some posts from here) with an amazing architecture and of course it is a neat city that knows how to highlight its beauty, honestly I don't know how I have not managed to visit this cannon until now although I have been to Oradea many times, but now the opportunity arose and I took advantage of it.
From home to there we drove about two and a half hours, being Saturday at first sight the city seems quite free so we parked the car in an underground car park a stone's throw from the city centre.
Walking through the streets of the city we were attracted by a smell of food that we couldn't resist (we didn't get to eat at home before we left) so we bought some peasant pies with salted cheese, wow, just the taste of home.
After just a few steps we are already in front of the City Hall of Oradea, a building that demonstrates the beauty of the local architecture, we take a few more steps and we reach the City Hall Tower, here everything is well set up by some information panels that help you discover the beauty of the city from a height of 50 meters.
To visit the town hall tower you have to pay a fee of 10 lei/2euro/person, visiting hours are from Tuesday to Sunday between 10-18, Monday is closed.
In the place where we bought the tickets there is also a small souvenir shop.
The tower doesn't have an elevator so be prepared to climb a few floors to get to the top, but it's all worth the effort because it gives you an amazing view of the city.
Let's go inside.
The climb has three types of stairs, so if you are afraid of heights I do not recommend venturing up here.
I don't have a problem with this so let's start climbing the stairs, the first floors have wide stairs that give you complete safety but the next two types of stairs being installed in a narrower part of the tower are not so wide, here there may be a possibility of getting height sickness.
This is the mechanism of the clock at the top of the town hall tower.
In about 10 minutes I was already at the top, even though I'm not in good physical condition, when I reached the top I forgot about all the tiredness accumulated climbing those stairs.
THE END!
