Hallstatt, an idyllic town on the shores of Lake Hallstattersee in Austria
Hallstatt, an idyllic town on the shores of Lake Hallstattersee in Austria
Hello everyone
I hope you are well and that this start of the week brings you nothing but achievements and why not inspiration in creating content here in the community.
Without further ado, today I want to visit probably the most photographed place in Austria, namely Hallstatt.
Hallstatt is a very small town located in Upper Austria, at the last census it counted about 800 people, and considering the huge difference between the number of inhabitants and the number of tourists present here you can imagine the discomfort and the pressure on the inhabitants of this town.
Last week I saw a report on TV from here showing the city's residents taking to the streets to shout their displeasure about the extremely high number of tourists, they were asking the government to limit the number of tourists in the city (from my experience here I can say that these city residents are right, the commotion on the city streets is really annoying sometimes).
We drove here and I can say that you have to have nerves of steel to find a parking spot, after 20 minutes of looking for a parking spot we were about to give up on the visit, but with a bit of luck we finally found a parking spot, you should know that even if you found a parking spot it is not cheap, depending on the area where you parked you will pay somewhere between 2,5-4euro/hour (we saw a few cars parked on the side of the road, but I do not recommend this).
As far as I saw there are two parking lots in the city (one of them we found a place) and two others at the exit of the city, all the data on the availability of parking spaces are posted on some signs, I asked and it seems that from the two parking lots outside the city you can get here by bus or on foot.
A word of advice, if you want to visit the city, get here as early as possible, otherwise it will be difficult, so don't spoil your appetite to explore the city.
In Hallstatt you have many options or activities that you can do and in today's post I stop on two of them, namely a walk through the city (in fact I saw the most photographed places here, I could not leave here without having these pictures) and the second activity was the boat ride on the lake.
I'll start extactly in reverse to introduce them to you, I'll start with the boat ride.
In the center of town there is a kind of pier where you can take the boat and here you can also find an information board with departure times and the price of a trip.
We arrived exactly at the last departure which was at 18:10, the cost of a trip is 15 euros and the approximate duration is one hour.
Let's get carried away by the waves and show you some pictures taken from the boat, this place really is unique.
The boat ride is over so let's go for a walk on the city streets.
The walk was something of a dream the colour of the lake water, the silence and the swans that seem to dance on the lake, the houses that seem to be made of gingerbread and the Austrian Alps seem to be spectators of the play.
I recommend if you visit it somehow to do it quietly, even live people here, from what I saw is enough just to walk the streets without talking and it is still noisy, and when we arrived at the most important points everyone was crowding to take their picture perfect forgetting to keep the silence.
If you like souvenirs this is the place to leave with a souvenir.
As a conclusion to today's post I can say that Hallstadt is a vibrant city, with amazing architecture, perfect location, with many possibilities to explore that is why I recommend it.
If you liked what you saw and read here please don't forget to give a LiKe, Follow, reBlog or a Comment, for all this I thank you, and until the next post I say goodbye.
P.S. The attached pictures you have just seen are taken by me with my mobile phone(and the combined picture is also made with the phone), and the text is also designed by me.

Thank you very much @lizanomadsoul, I really appreciate your support.
Thanks for sharing this awesome place but my favorite is the souvenir shop among all. Lol
I have to admit that I too am drawn to souvenir shops, I always make time for them when I schedule a visit.
Glad to know, you can't escape the souvenir shops coz for me it is a reminder that I went to that specific place. 🥰
I too have an impressive collection of souvenirs and yes, I like to buy a souvenir from the places I visit.
I understand people who live there. I also live in one of the most visited towns in Switzerland and it's a hell in summer. There are tons of people and sooo many cars. I do understand that they all want to see the waterfall, but sometimes it's simply tiring.
Hallstat looks indeed idyllic and I can understand why so many people want to see it 🙂
Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day!
You are absolutely right sometimes such a highly visited place can become a hell for its inhabitants, but surely there is a workaround for that, in the sense that no one loses out, tourist money to continue to stay here and residents to have peace .
Thank you very much for your comment.
It is amazing to see the relief of the mountains and the water of the lake.
Indeed the landscape is idyllic, I feel it is the perfect combination, this place is really worth visiting, by the way annually attracts over a million tourists😉
Beautiful landscapes
Your hand needs a Manilla as it is while pointing at those landscapes.
I send it to you
Thank you very much.
I would be happy to have such a bracelet😉
It would look great on your walks and publications.
You're right, but I don't know how to proceed.
Bueno yo menos

So many amazing photos!, The boat ride looks like it was worth it, what a view. The village on the hill looks cool, especially in one of the later pics with the reflection. It must be irritating indeed to the locals with all the tourism at the same it it does help circle their economy.
Thank you so much for the kind words written here and thank you for stopping by.
I LOVED THİS PLACE :)
I fell in love with this place too, can you imagine what this place looks like when it snows outside and everything is covered with snow, sensational.
