The Clyde Arc – often known as the ‘Squinty Bridge’ – is a modern road bridge over the River Clyde in Glasgow, which opened in 2006. Its most striking feature is its curved design, which runs diagonally across the river and has earned it its nickname. The bridge connects the districts of Finnieston and Govan and is regarded as an important symbol of Glasgow’s urban regeneration, as it improves access to new cultural and development areas such as the Science Centre. One evening, I visited the bridge and tried to find a suitable perspective for a long exposure. I used a railing as a leading line and an ND filter as a frame, into which I then inserted the finished image.

Der Clyde Arc – oft „Squinty Bridge“ genannt – ist eine moderne Straßenbrücke über den River Clyde in Glasgow, die 2006 eröffnet wurde. Besonders auffällig ist ihr geschwungenes, schräg über den Fluss verlaufendes Design, das ihr ihren Spitznamen eingebracht hat. Die Brücke verbindet die Stadtteile Finnieston und Govan und gilt als wichtiges Symbol für die städtebauliche Erneuerung Glasgows, da sie neue Kultur- und Entwicklungsgebiete wie das Science Centre besser zugänglich macht. Eines Abends besuchte ich die Brücke und versuchte, eine passende Perspektive für eine Langzeitbelichtung zu finden. Ich benutzte ein Geländer als führende Linie und einen ND-Filter als Rahmen, in den ich dann das fertige Bild einsetzte.
