📷 Cinematic Street Photography in Naples [EN/DE]

Hello everyone! In my last post, I showed you my glass ball photos from my day trip to Naples. But crystal ball photography wasn't the only type of photography I was working on that day. Most of the time, I focused on street photography, and Naples is actually perfect for that. There's no shortage of subjects; on the contrary, there's pure sensory overload here. The difficulty lies not in finding subjects, but in isolating them from the dense bustle of the crowds and setting them in scene. I was sometimes more successful at this than others.

Hallo zusammen! Im letzten Beitrag habe ich ja bereits meine Glaskugel-Fotos von meinem Tagesausflug nach Neapel gezeigt. Doch die Glaskugel-Fotografie war nicht der einige Fotografie-Bereich, mit dem ich mich im Laufe dieses Tages beschäftigte. Die meiste Zeit legte ich den Fokus auf die Straßenfotografie und Neapel ist eigentlich wie dafür gemacht. Es mangelt nicht an Motiven, ganz im Gegenteil, hier herrscht Reizüberflutung pur. Die Schwierigkeit liegt nicht darin, Motive zu finden, sondern diese im dichten Gewusel der Menschenmassen freizustellen und in Szene zu setzten. Dies gelang mir mal besser, mal schlechter.

Now I was finally able to test my new, super small and lightweight 50mm F2.5 lens in detail. I had actually bought it mainly for travel and street photography. And I was not disappointed. The autofocus is fast and accurate, the sharpness is excellent even at open aperture, and I love the colors and contrasts of this lens.

Nun konnte ich auch endlich mein neues, super kleines und leichtes 50mm F2.5 Objektiv ausführlich testen. Eigentlich hatte ich es hauptsächlich für die Reise- und Straßenfotografie gekauft. Und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Der Autofokus ist schnell und treffsicher, die Schärfe selbst bei Offenblende hervorragend und ich liebe die Farben und Kontraste dieser Linse.

In post-production, I tried to give the photos a cinematic look and make them appear like stills from a movie. Cinematic street photography is also the subject of my upcoming book, which I am currently working on, but I will tell you more about that in another post.

In der Nachbearbeitung versuchte ich den Aufnahmen einen cinematischen Look zu verleihen und sie wie Standbilder aus Filmen wirken zu lassen. Die cinematische Straßenfotografie ist auch das Thema meines kommenden Buches, an dem ich aktuell arbeite, doch davon erzähle ich euch in einem anderen Beitrag mehr.
