Winter evenings in Graz have something atmospheric, almost magical about them. Even during the evening rush hour, the city is already sinking into darkness. Only the shops, streetlights, and headlights of vehicles are brightly lit, while a light, mystical fog always hangs in the air. And as you stroll through the streets and alleys, you see it again and again, towering majestically over the city: the unique Graz clock tower. You have to look closely to appreciate the magic and beauty of these early evening scenes. But that's the thing about street photography. It gives you a sharp look at everyday life that stays hidden from others.

Winterabende in Graz haben etwas stimmungsvolles, fast magisches. Schon während der abendlichen Rushhour versinkt die Stadt in Dunkelheit. Nur noch die Geschäfte, die Straßenlaternen und die Scheinwerfer von Fahrzeugen sind hell erleuchtet, während immer ein leichter, mystisch wirkender Nebel in der Luft liegt. Und beim Spazieren durch die Straßen und Gassen sieht man ihn immer wieder, wie er majestätisch über der Stadt trohnt: Der einzigartige Grazer Uhrturm. Man muss genauer hinsehen, um den Zauber und die Schönheit dieser frühabendlichen Szenen zu erfassen. Doch genau das ist das Schöne an der Straßenfotografie. Sie ermöglicht einem einen scharfen Blick auf den Alltag, der für andere im Verborgenen bleibt.

For these shots, I used my lightweight, compact 85mm F1.8 lens, which is ideal for night photography due to its fast aperture. I also screwed on a 1/8 black mist filter again. In post-processing, I opted for strong teal and orange color contrasts to emphasize the nighttime atmosphere. I hope you like the photos and wish you a great start to the new week!

Für diese Aufnahmen hatte ich mein leichtes, kompaktes 85mm F1.8 Objektiv im Einsatz, das sich aufgrund der Lichtstärke hervorragend für die Nachtfotografie eignet. Auch einen Black Mist Filter in der Stärke von 1/8 hatte ich wieder aufgeschraubt. In der Nachbearbeitung entschied ich mich für starke Teal & Orange Farbkontraste, die die nächtliche Stimmung unterstreichen sollten.
