First Hairdresser Experience in Thailand

Hi Everyone,

I’ve never gotten a haircut in Thailand mainly due to the language barrier I have with the local staff. I’ve got my hair digitally permed in Japan with a local hairdresser with the help of their staff who could speak English so I I thought I can try that also in Thailand if I could find a branch which is foreign customer friendly.

A friend recommended a hairdresser in Thong Lor which is just 2 stations to where I was staying so thought I’ll give it a go. It has been 6 months since my haircut in Japan so desperately needed a trip plus an intense hair treatment. The appointment was made on Line and I requested a Korean hair stylist but unfortunately, they are not available but I was happy to go with a local hair stylist who could speak English.

The estimated time would be around 2hrs. I was offered drinks, snacks through out the time and got a very nice massage as well. Back at home, I normally go to a Japanese hair salon and service there is already pretty good, but here is the next level. From the hair wash to the massage and discussing how my hair would look afterwards, the process was very thorough. I’ll be back end of year, probably will get another haircut while I’m there for a fraction of the price.
