Spring is the time to dress up!

Spring is really the time for bright outfits. This is especially true for birds, where the male does not take care of the chicks 😉 Of course, you noticed that in the bird kingdom some pairs are very similar to each other - the male and the female are almost the same. But in others you can immediately see who is who. And there is nothing surprising or illogical here.
Where both parents take the same part in caring for the chicks, there is no need for beautiful plumage. The male wins the female's attention not by appearance, but by care, attention and help. They are crows, pigeons, storks.
But in couples where the male is not too inclined to take part in "household chores", he needs other arguments. And then bright plumage comes to the rescue. In such pairs, the female is usually gray and not bright. She doesn't need to prove anything to anyone, her role in the procreation of the family is huge. But the male must make a lot of effort to attract the female's attention.
Of course, it's not too fair that one of the parents doesn't take enough care of the chicks. But on the other hand, if it weren't for such a division of labor, we could never see such an amazingly bright plumage!

Good morning, dear friend @torem-di-torem
What a beautiful bird species! I love the color of the males' feathers.
I've never seen this species in person.
Excellent photos.
Have a great day!
