Photography as a way to see the world around you

My journey into the world of photography began unexpectedly. Of course, like most of us, I took dozens of pictures with my mobile phone. But it was spontaneous. I dreamed of studying at the Kiev School of Photography, but the need to go to classes and back 100 km excluded this possibility.

As it often happens, the problem has opened up opportunities. I'm talking about the pandemic. Quarantine forced everyone to look for new means of communication and distance courses were created at the school of photography. It was a great opportunity for me!

And so I became a student again. I studied not only the capabilities of my camera, but also the processing techniques, in particular the Photoshop program. My vision of photography has become fundamentally different. I discovered shooting techniques that I didn't even know about.

For example, this photo was taken using a light brush. In an absolutely dark room, you put the camera on a tripod and choose a long exposure with the most open aperture. You press the start and display the objects you want to see in your picture with a flashlight. You're literally drawing your photo.

And this photo was also taken by the choice of point focussing. That's how I did a triptych, when only one of the three subjects was clear every time.

But my main focus is animal photography. It's quite difficult because they're not very patient models. But when I manage to catch a good shot, I'm really very happy.
