I was visiting my friend in Irpin today, and while we were walking around I noticed these small bright islands scattered through the city.

Sedum growing between stones. I have no idea how it ended up there — it just grew out of the cobblestones and is blooming away, bright yellow, juicy, very pleased with itself. It doesn't seem to notice that there's a whole city around it. It's just there, and that's enough.

And a wild rose after rain. Droplets on the petals, soft pink, yellow center. There's something very calm about flowers like this — they don't try to impress anyone, they just bloom. Quietly and confidently.

I love finding things like this in cities. Macro photography is a whole different way of looking at the world — when you get close enough, you suddenly discover that inside one small flower or a cluster of sedum between stones there's an entire universe.

I'm not a professional photographer — I learned the basics years ago at the Kyiv School of Photography, and I still think about going back for a masterclass someday. When life slows down a little. When there's more time. Maybe someday 😊

For now — a phone, a walk through a friend's city, and these two small finds that made the day a little brighter.
