My daily blog

Hi, my dear friends!

It’s already mid-October and I’m summing up the results of the next week. As always, it was filled with work and caring for animals. In this sense, little changes in my life.

The traditional association of October is pumpkins. It's funny to say, but some of them are still blooming! Hey you guys. Do you seriously think you will have time to grow fruits before winter comes?!

And of course, golden autumn is gaining momentum. This is definitely my favorite time of year! The world around us is so unimaginably beautiful. And this makes the events happening in the world today seem even more terrible... I don’t know about you, but when I read the news, sometimes I want to take a shovel and dig in myself.

And of course the traditional autumn rains began. In principle, I have nothing against it, I love the rain, I love sitting under a blanket in my room with my dogs sleeping peacefully nearby and writing another article. But this time the rain unfortunately brought another exacerbation of my neurology.

Yeah, sad but true. My right hand hurts so much that not only can I barely hold a stylus, but I can't think straight, which is not good for someone who has to submit an article to the editor in just a couple of days. But I never stop hoping that tomorrow it will become easier for me and I will become more efficient and manage everything. In the meantime, I diligently smear the inflammation areas with a warming and pain-relieving ointment.

Nevertheless, I allowed myself a couple of small walks. Firstly, the dogs really wanted to run, and secondly, who would stay at home when there is such beauty around?

And of course, I am now busy with the traditional autumn relocation of my animals. I only turn on the central fireplace in my house when it gets frosty. Alas. It's too expensive and I try to save as much as I can. But I have a small wood-burning stove on the ground floor, which really helps me out at a time when it is too early for a central boiler, but the rainy weather already makes it necessary to add some heat to the house. So now all animals, especially heat-loving ones, move closer to this wood-burning stove.

And of course I am busy with seasonal cleaning of aquariums. In addition, the time has come to prepare a large aquarium, because soon the time will come to take my fish into the house from a small artificial lake, which freezes completely in winter.

But not yet. quite warm. This is an amazing moment of combination of the first fallen leaves and the last blooming flowers. I often wonder what this winter will be like? I wish it wasn't too damp and cold.

But I took this photo in the forest. I really love catching the rays of the sun breaking through the treetops. Here they beautifully illuminate the forest moss.

I think I can relate in some way. You're catching with the deadline but your body's well-being is hindering your productivity. That really is a pain, especially if you want to think of something better to write but you have a headache.

Anyways, I love your photos!

This year I grew a lot of pumpkin leaves and blossoms but not much for pumpkins - next year I’ll get them started a bit earlier.

We moved back to the family homestead in rural North Carolina this year from Hawaii and I’m really enjoying the change of seasons.
