Visiting Merida, Yucatán

The capital of the Yucatan has turned out to be a pleasant surprise for us.
We expected a more chaotic and disorderly city, instead, we have found a clean and well-preserved historic center in which we have enjoyed the contemplation of well-preserved buildings over 400 years old like the Cathedral.

We have also visited some of the food markets and, although the children were shocked by the smells that could be breathed in, everything seemed very European to me.

It has been worth the visit to this city, however, we are going to stay here just one more night. Tomorrow we head south towards "Laguna Bacalar".

What kind of foods are in their markets? I guess I saw a chicken or a rooster, yes?
