Sant Jordi, a special day

April 23, Sant Jordi, one of the Catalan patron saints and perhaps the most important in Catalan culture.
It is a tradition to give books and roses among citizens, originally men gave roses to their women and it was women who gave books to men... a historical stupidity that has been corrected in the present given the improvements in gender equality.
For me, April 23 is a day to go through the city of Barcelona that is decked out with its best decorations and is filled with people from all over, so many that there are places in the city where not even a pin fits and It's even hard to breathe.
I leave you a compendium of photos taken a few hours ago so that you can see the impressive environment.
Have a good week!

Barcelona is among my top favourite cities. It also has the record of being the most revisited city by me abroad (5 times so far if I am not mistaken), but (here's the thing) ALL of them on my motorcycle all the way from Greece. This Gaudi building is among the best things I've seen there or elsewhere.
Wow!
