Medieval Catalan Architecture

Today I took a holiday... Well, in fact, yesterday we had to take my son to Andorra, a small country in the middle of the Pyrenees, about 220km from Barcelona since he is starting a week-long stay in a Soccer Summer Camp.
My daughter is also out of the country, doing some internships so we have seen each other, my wife and I, "free" as we had not been for years... so what we have done is take Monday as a holiday and spend the day in Andorra and then visit a small medieval city, very important in the past called "La Seu d'Urgell"... in fact, it was a key city in the reconquest against the Muslims of the Iberian peninsula around the eighth century and ninth.
I have always liked history, in fact, I really enjoy visiting ancient enclaves and imagining the past, so today we have considered a visit to the cathedral of that city, which dates from the ninth century and has the peculiarity of being the only Romanesque cathedral that It exists in the Eastern Pyrenees.
I leave you some photos taken with my cell phone, it's a shame you can't appreciate the plentiful space but at least it gives you an idea.

That is a nice way to celebrate your free time and visit this ancient building, it looks well-maintained.
It sounds like you had a great day exploring Andorra and La Seu d'Urgell! I'm glad you were able to spend some quality time with your wife and see some amazing historical sites.
The cathedral in La Seu d'Urgell looks absolutely stunning. I love the way the Romanesque architecture blends with the natural landscape. I can definitely see why you would enjoy visiting such an ancient enclave.
The place looks so beautiful and the way you have gone to pick up your baby makes the time that much more special when one gets to have a baby after a week or a few months. A person who meets his children in this way is very happy.
