Etna Volcano Trip Sicily, Italy.
Mount Etna is one of the most active volcanoes in the world.
The night before our trip we stayed at Castelmola, 30 km distance from Mount Etna.
When it gets dark you can see a stream of lava going down.
Wow, amazing!
Early in the morning driving uphill in our rental car.
Lower part has beautiful vegetation
First stop Silvestri crater.
We took the cablecar higher
At the station you can see images of the 2001 eruption.
You can go higher by truck but we walked.
Dark lavadust everywhere, found it deep in our ears when we returned.

Wonderful photos mate! A great emotion to visit the largest active volcano in Europe, every time we see that on TV talk about its eruption, my partner and I always say that we must go there sooner or later together, even if she has already been there once time, while I not. Great post!
Thanks! Yes climbing the Etna is a great experience!
One day I will share it too, in the meantime I enjoy the images of your beautiful post. Have a happy weekend mate ;).

thank you @tonyz for this quality documentary that reminds us of Haroun Tazieff and his incredible work, best!
Thanks, learned something from you.
I will have a look to find the book of Mr. Tazieff!
Hey @tonyz thanks to you, the quality of your Vulcano images is astounding! Haroun Tazieff was one of the fathers of the 70s vulcanology. Precursor of implementing new technologies, sensors and others from then, but he had this thing added to his knowledge and excellence to rarely be wrong in alarming when eruptions were imminent, we were young but he left some things onto us!
The color of the soil proves the existence of a volcano in the place! I remember one place in the Philippines with this color of the soil.
And there are a number of hot springs there. It's wonderful!
Nature is amazing!
It's true!God bless you @tonyz
Very nice trip to the "active volcano" mountain! It's really amazing to see the stream of lava going down among the darkness. The mountain is awesome and the huge white clouds are really wonderful. The view is picturesque with gorgeous wildflowers. It seems that you had special experience.... Thanks so much for sharing. ;)
Thanks Tangmo!
