The fourth month of the year was one of the busiest I have had so far, because during these 30 days I had many and varied activities.

Activities with the family, my wife's birthday, scientific events, participation in a wedding and, at the end of the month, I had to go to the doctor because of an injury in one of my knees.

Here are three of those activities I had and, I hope this fourth month of the year has been as busy for you as it was for me.

My wife's birthday

Those of you who know me know that one of my favorite activities is to celebrate the birthdays of the people I meet. And, one of the reasons is because the birthday is a token of love, because whoever has a birthday was born as a result of the union of two beings who loved each other and as a result of that love you were born. For that reason, when we celebrate birthdays we celebrate the union of our parents.

This month my wife had her birthday and we decided to spend it away from home. We were first at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba and then we moved to the Hotel Neptuno because it was the closing of an international event in which I had participated that week.

XI Earth Sciences Convention

As director of Knowledge Management of the Institute of Geology and Paleontology, I participate in national and international events on geosciences held in the country. In this case, it was the XI Convention of Earth Sciences in which our center has a great protagonism.

This year we presented the exhibition stand and developed various activities to publicize the scientific results of our researchers.

A beautiful wedding

This was another activity that I enjoyed very much because it was a family celebration, in which the groom is my wife's nephew and I have seen him grow up and become a man and because his wife's family are wonderful and good people that I did not know, but they are already part of my family.

It is beautiful to see how one is able to be happy with so little, because beyond the food, the sweets, the drinks or the music, what really made the evening something extraordinary, were the good relationships we had among all the participants and some of us were seeing each other for the first time.

May is the month of spring, and on this second Sunday of the month we celebrate, in many countries, Mother's Day, a special evening for some, painful for others because we do not have it physically. But, in any case, enjoy this day and pay tribute to the one who gave us life.

Una introducción necesaria

El cuarto mes del año fue uno de los más movidos de cuantos he tenido hasta ahora, porque durante estos 30 días tuve muchas actividades y muy variadas.

Actividades con la familia, cumpleaños de mi esposa, eventos científicos, participación en una boda y, terminando el mes, tuve que acudir al médico por una lesión en una de mis rodillas.

Aquí le dejo tres de esas actividades que tuve y, espero que este cuarto mes del año haya sido tan movido para ustedes como lo fue para mí.

Cumpleaños de mi esposa

Los que me conocen saben que una de mis actividades preferidas es celebrar el cumpleaños de las personas que conozco. Y, una de las razones es porque el cumpleaños es una muestra de amor, pues, quien cumple años nació como resultado de la unión de dos seres que se amaron y fruto de ese amor usted nació. Por tal razón, cuando celebramos el cumpleaños celebramos la unión de nuestros padres.

En este mes mi esposa cumplió años y decidimos pasarlo fuera de casa. Estuvimos primero en el Hotel Nacional de Cuba y después, nos trasladamos hacia el Hotel Neptuno porque era la clausura de un evento internacional en el que yo había participado esa semana.

XI Convención de Ciencias de la Tierra

Como director de Gestión del Conocimiento del Instituto de Geología y Paleontología, participo en los eventos nacionales e internacionales que sobre las Geociencias se celebran en el país. En este caso, se trató de la XI Convención de Ciencias de la Tierra de la que nuestro centro tiene un gran protagonismo.

En este año presentamos el stand expositivo y desarrollamos variadas actividades, para dar a conocer los resultados científicos de nuestros investigadores.

Una boda hermosa

Esta fue otra actividad que disfruté mucho porque fue una fiesta familiar, en la que el novio es sobrino de mi esposa y lo he visto crecer y convertirse en hombre y porque la familia de su esposa son personas maravillosas y de bien a las que no conocía, pero, ya forman parte de mi familia.

Es hermoso ver cómo uno es capaz de ser feliz con tan poco, porque más allá de la comida, los dulces, la bebida o la música, lo que realmente hizo de la velada algo extraordinario, fueron las buenas relaciones que tuvimos entre todos los participantes y algunos nos veíamos por primera vez.

Un comentario final

Mayo es el mes de la primavera, y en este segundo domingo del mes celebramos, en muchos países, el Día de las Madres, una velada especial para algunos, dolorosa para otros porque no la tenemos físicamente. Pero, en cualquier caso, disfrute de ese día y ríndale homenaje a quien nos dio la vida.

Para muchos será un mes movido, para otros no tanto. En cualquier caso, intente disfrutarlo al máximo y vívalo con toda la intensidad que pueda, porque no sabe qué nos depara el próximo.
