Times of War A' Comin?

So this goes back to the 90s

I grew up in a rural area in the 90s. This was just after the cold war had ended and NATO was still flying some fighter jets in the sky, just for practice. I still remember the extremely loud and sharp pitched roar they made as they were approaching the sound barrier with some even breaking it. To a child this sounds like the end of the world and I used to run inside quickly for safety. This happened every now and then, but definitely once a month or so. I never got used to it and at the end of the 90s NATO ceased the drills and things began to quiet down.

Until now...

In the last few years, and especially this year, I am hearing these sounds again. While they are not as loud as back then (perhaps there is some new regulation about how fast they can fly), I once again see the fighter jets in the sky. Just this past month alone I spotted many jets and heard them almost every other day.

The drills are increasing.

This is very obvious and noticeable. I am not sure if it bothers other people at all (perhaps some find them even reassuring). But I have noticed, and it reminds me of the times back when I grew up. The long hiatus between these times is perhaps what makes this second round all the more noticeable. The pause has signified peace and relative stability. And people no doubt got accustomed to it. Now, fighter jets in the sky signify that times have changed and that war may soon not be a distant memory anymore. The machines of war are flying directly over people's heads again and I can't help but feel that they are an omen of more things to come.

Some years ago the emergency drills also started. We now have them two times a year with loud sirens screaming for at least 10 minutes. There is also an alarm that I used to get on my phone before I figured out how to disable it. Is it really necessary to put everyone on notice twice a year? It's clear that the tech works and I am not even against having a warning system in place. But this feels almost like it is being done deliberately to keep people more and more on alert.

I have also noticed that the path the jets are taking isn't random: they are being flown deliberately over populated areas so people can see them. I guess it's free advertisement for the military. Not like the brainwashed ads that have popped up everywhere like mushroom are enough.

I truly hope that a majority won't fall for this war trap, but what I have seen from the Corona virus period in regards to human mass behavior does not bode well. But then again, perhaps that might have been a wake up call for some?

Sometimes those sounds really unsettle us, breaking the tranquility of a beautiful day. Hug.

The sudden sharp noise from the jets can be very annoying

I hope those would not lead to some big events like war as it would escalate and involve a lot of countries
