CO2 is Life!

This CO2 narrative is getting out of hand

I remember when I was a teenager when I first watched Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth and was rather shaken by it. This guy sounded very credible and he was telling me how life on Earth was basically doomed if humanity wasn't going to stop emitting CO2. It was that simple: CO2 was the culprit of basically everything: rising sea levels, hurricanes, drought, flooding, more snow, less snow, more diseases, more poverty - you name it! The graphs and data he showed also seemed convincing. The science back then already seemed settled.

So why am I not in panic now like seemingly everyone else? Well first, all the dire predictions didn't come to light. And when the deadline is close or passed, the date gets shoved into the future. Take his prediction of "ice free north polar caps" which should have melted by now. When ones looks even further back there are more obviously false claims:

It was only much later that I began to hear the other side of the story. When I listened to this side the whole narrative was put on its head and even An inconvenient truth was full of distortions and inconsistencies. In fact, looking at the actual data revealed that while yes it was getting warmer throughout the decades , the alarmist disasters were not appearing. In fact, just about everything was getting better in the world: less deaths from weather events, less poverty, less hurricanes and drought or floods, the sea levels were not rising as dramatic - nothing was dramatic at all! Even the climate was warming at just about 1-2°C/century which is something that the Earth has been doing throughout its history.

Today these false assumptions about Doom and Gloom are taking us to a precipice

People are believing the main narrative about the supposed threatening state the world is in. This is leading to radicalism on all levels which if the assumptions were actually warranted would be okay. But they are false. It's getting so absurd that the whole industry is now green-washing just about everything. "Buy our products because they are clean!" or "We are green as we try to reduce our carbon emissions" etc. Just have a look at the ridiculousness:

photo_2023-03-26_21-21-10.jpg

We can read: "Less CO2" and we can see a green plant in the background. This suggests that less CO2 is good for the environment/the plants. How stupid does one have to be to believe this falsehood? CO2 IS nourishment for plants! Saying that reducing CO2 is somehow good for plants is like saying reducing O2 is good for humans! This just shows that people have completed shut down their critical thinking skills (if there were any to begin with). Even if one argues that reducing CO2 is good for the environment because it would stop warming, it is a very weak argument. We now know that at around 400ppm CO2 cannot produce very much more warming due to a saturation effect. Doubling the concentration to 800ppm or more would actually only contribute very little to global warming. Also, the Earth has had thousands of ppm in the atmosphere and life flourished (e,g, the Cambrian era).

CO2 is life. It is not just life for plants so they can breathe, but carbon is literally the basis for all life (at least on this planet). We have to get off this train of doom and gloom very quickly as it is moving in a completely wrong direction. It only leads to irrational behavior, bad policies (that are now coming into effect), and especially control and a power shift to the so called (political) elites.

Make a stand, inform yourself. And then inform others, so we can step out of this derailed train and move consciousness towards a brighter future once more!

Your statements leave me thinking, because clearly I did not see it that way, but, the way in which you expose your points of view, show me the need to read more, to inform myself in order to know if everything about CO2 is true or not. I like to read diverse opinions, which lead us to investigate more to understand what really happens.

I still remember reading the first book about how the Earth is doomed to sudden and mass extinction. It was so convincing that it kept me awake most of the night! All they do is tell you half truths to control the narrative and convince the general population to rally behind their cause.

Yep that is often the case. They often like to show the last few decades of trends. But often in the beginning of the 20th century a different picture is revealed

woow this is very interesting,,I think I need to look deep into this,,great points you've outlined here @tobetada

I think it's way too late to stop the runaway train. Businesses are compelled to push the green narrative to maintain their ESG scores, while science and the media have been bought. What stand can we make?

It definitely is an uphill fighting battle. But we can still make a change by simply informing ourselves and more importantly by sharing these insights with the people around us. Nobody will support this agenda when nobody believes it and does not fear it

Thank you for taking this stand, and for publishing info about it. More CO2 would mean more green, not less. The movement to reduce CO2 is an assault on life itself. Nothing new there.

it's so obvious when one thinks about it, but who thinks these days?

Wow that news is too old and I haven't been born yet that date.

Prophecies are good because it will help us know about the future but we should know if it is true or not. But whether it is right or wrong, let's just take care our mother earth in the ways we can.

yes, I am all for environmentalism; but data shows that we do not need to be scared of CO2 :)
