LEMPUYANG TEMPLE - BALI | Journey to the Gateway to Heaven

Back again with me Tina, this time I want to tell you about my trip in Bali. I and a friend of mine visited Bali last year and I decided to go to Lempuyang Temple which is located in East Bali, in Abang District, Karangasem Regency to be precise.
Previously I told you about my initial trip to Bali, we missed the plane because we were too engrossed in chatting and joking at the airport so we didn't know that the check-in time was over. Luckily we were given new tickets without buying them again.
Long story short we arrived at the inn after a journey of approximately 2 hours. We enjoyed our trip and after arriving at the inn we decided to rest soon because we would leave in the morning.
The time showed 05.00 WIB, we hurriedly got up to perform the dawn prayer then got ready for the trip to Lempuyang Temple. Do not forget before leaving we have breakfast first. This time we ordered betutu chicken, Balinese food.
After breakfast we get ready to travel. Because we use motorbikes, we also prepare many things, such as jackets, raincoats and backpacks for the tools we carry and also mineral water.
JOURNEY TO LEMPUYANG
After everything was ready, we immediately stepped on the gas to Lempuyang Temple. Travel by motorbike takes almost 3 hours from the city center. We took turns driving it and occasionally stopped at a shop to rest.
After traveling for about 1 hour suddenly it rained and we took shelter for a while. Even though we brought raincoats, we were worried that our shoes would get wet. lol.
After taking shelter and the rain stopped, we continued our journey. We saw many beautiful sights during the trip, we passed many beautiful beaches and planned to stop by on our way home. After a long journey we arrived.
TOURIST ATTRACTION
Lempuyang Temple is an attraction for tourists from all over the world. Not only local residents but foreign nationals also fill this tourist spot. Apart from its soothing atmosphere, lempuyang is also an amazing object and is even called the Gate to heaven. The beauty of Lempuyang temple makes anyone who visits hope that they will come back again and visit it again and again.
Before you take pictures at the Lempuyang Gate, you will be asked to queue because many tourists want to take pictures at the gate. It's the same with us who queued for almost 3 hours just to be able to take pictures at the gate.
But our tiredness and time paid off with the beauty we got from the photos and this experience. Oh yes, before entering the tourist location, you will be asked to use the cloth that has been provided as a requirement to maintain the sanctity of the temple.
THOUSANDS OF STAIRS AND MANY TEMPLES
When heading to Lempuyang temple, you will find many stairs and temples there. And to get to the location there are 1,700 steps that must be passed to reach Lempuyang Temple. So make sure your body is healthy and fit, because I experienced it myself, my feet weren't healthy enough to be able to climb a lot of stairs, but I forced myself until I finally felt pain after returning from the location.
GATE TO HEAVEN
Why is Lempuyang temple called the Gate to Heaven?
Actually this is just a term used by the community because of the beautiful background of the Gapura Lempuyang Temple. Beautiful view of the blend of blue sky, white clouds and majestic mountain peaks. It is this view that makes Gapura Lempuyang Temple known as the Gate to Heaven.
If you take photos during the day, you will get beautiful photos with Mount Agung in the background. But I get the time in the afternoon, so the mountain is not very visible.
BEAUTIFUL ENVIRONMENT
If you come there, you will be presented with a very beautiful and natural nature. It will be easy for you to see the chirping of birds and a few hanging monkeys during the trip. Have a very pleasant experience.
ABSOLUTE
Because Lempuyang Temple is a sacred place for Hinduism, don't ever violate the rules that have been set. There are several restrictions that must be avoided when visiting Lempuyang temple, including the following:
- Thoughts, words, and deeds must be purified.
- You can't say rude words during a visit.
- Women who are menstruating or breastfeeding and children who have not lost their milk teeth should not enter the temple area first.
- You should not bring gold jewelry, because often if you bring gold jewelry it will mysteriously disappear.
- You may not bring lunch or eat pork when you go to Lempuyang Temple.
After finishing the photo session and also our trip around the lempuyang temple, we decided to return to the inn, considering that our journey was quite far and it was already getting late.
On the way home we stopped briefly at a restaurant because we were quite hungry at Lempuyang Temple earlier because we only focused on taking pictures and enjoying the beauty of the temple there.
After finishing eating and resting we returned to the inn at 20.00 WIB. There is still enough time to walk around Bali, enjoying the beauty of the night in the city of Bali.
