My Frida Khalo Yuli

Happy New Year 2023 to all, I hope all your goals for this year are fulfilled or at least on the right track.

The occurrences we have with our beloved four-legged angels have no limits and a sample of it is this photo shoot I have taken to my beloved pet.

Every photo has a story, so I'm going to tell you how my pet Yuli ended up looking like Frida Khalo, a woman for whom I have a deep admiration.

It all started two months ago when Yuli began to present some health problems, problems that ended up in a radical change in her diet - healthier, with less fat and flour, just like her owner - and with a sterilization, not to prevent her from getting pregnant, because Yuli is about to turn 11 years old; but to avoid possible diseases.

As a consequence of the operation - sterilization, Yuli had to wear a girdle for 3 weeks, so her coat, which by the way was very beautiful, got a lot of knots and she went from being a house dog to look like a homeless dog. It's true, she looked awful.

The last week of the year 2022 I decided to send her to be shaved to receive the new year clean and with a haircut; but the cold was doing its thing and poor Yuli spent a night of extreme cold.

To avoid her suffering I decided to put one of my scarves around her body and I found it very funny, with a certain resemblance to a lady of yesteryear. At that moment my sister suggested to me that she looked like Frida Khalo. The rest is history, I took my needles and started knitting the accessories I would use.

The photo shoot was not easy, she is not easy, but what she didn't count on was that she had total determination to take the pictures, so after some struggle she realized it and gave in. At that moment I took the pictures you see. What do you think? Do you like them? By the way I didn't paint her eyebrows, because that would have been a titanic job.

AHORA EN ESPAÑOL

Feliz año 2023 para todos, espero que todas sus metas para este año se cumplan o por lo menos vayan por buen camino.

Las ocurrencias que tenemos con nuestros queridos ángeles de cuatro patas no tienen límites y una muestra de ello es esta sesión de fotos que le he tomado a mi amada mascota.

Toda foto tiene una historia, así que les voy a contar cómo fue que mi mascota Yuli terminó por parecerse a Frida Khalo, mujer por la que siento una profunda admiración.

Todo comenzó hace dos meses cuando Yuli comenzó a presentar algunos problemas de salud, problemas que terminaron en un cambio radical en su forma de alimentarse - más sana, con menos grasas y harinas, tal como su dueña – y con una esterilización, no para evitar que quedara preñada, pues Yuli está por cumplir 11 años; sino para evitar posibles enfermedades.

Consecuencia de la operación – esterilización, Yuli tuvo que usar una faja por 3 semanas, así que a su pelaje, que por cierto estaba muy hermoso, le aparecieron muchos nudos y sin más pasó de ser una perrita de casa para parecerse a una perra indigente. Es verdad, estaba horrible.

La última semana del año 2022 decidí mandarla a afeitar para que recibiera el año nuevo limpiecita y con corte de pelo; pero el frio estaba haciendo de las suyas y la pobre Yuli pasó una noche de frio extremo.

Para evitar su sufrimiento decidí colocarle una de mis bufandas alrededor de su cuerpo y me pareció muy graciosa, con cierta semejanza a una dama antañona. En ese momento mi hermana me sugirió que se parecía a Frida Khalo. Lo demás es historia, tomé mis agujas y me puse a tejer los accesorios que usaría.

La sesión de fotos no fue fácil, ella no es fácil, pero con lo que ella no contaba era que tenía total determinación en tomar las fotos, así que luego de algún forcejeo se dio cuenta y se rindió. En ese momento tomé las fotos que ven. Qué les parece? Te gustan? Por cierto no le pinté las cejas, pues eso si habría sido un trabajo titánico.
