Winter is back, snowy landscapes from my city.

In recent years, my interest in winter has increased somewhat. I used to dislike it intensely, but now I don't differentiate it from other seasons; each season has its own beauty and its own challenges. If you focus on the positive aspects, accept the existing conditions, and try to enjoy them, your city, your neighborhood, and the season you live in become enjoyable. It took me a long time to understand this, but the important thing is that I finally grasped it :)

Son yıllarda kış mevsimine olan ilgim biraz arttı. Eskiden hiç sevmezdim şimdiler de ise diğer mevsimlerden ayırt etmiyorum, her mevsimin ayrı bir güzelliği ayrı bir zorluğu mevcut. Güzel tarafa yoğunlaşıp, mevcut koşulları kabullenip bundan keyif almaya çalışırsanız bulunduğunuz şehir, bulunduğunuz mahalle, yaşadığınız mevsim keyifli hale geliyor. Bunu anlamak çok uzun sürdü ama sonunda kavramış olmam önemli olan :)

The best part of winter is waking up in the morning to see the snow in its freshest form. The snow on the trees, in particular, looks its most natural. After a while, the warmth of the sun melts the snow and it falls to the ground. Snow on the roads is cleared by snowplows or compacted by people towards the middle of the day. As I said, the purest form of snow is seen in the early morning, before the sun rises and before people leave their homes.

Kış mevsiminin en güzel tarafı sabah uyandığınızda yağmış olan karı en taze hali ile görmeniz. Özellikle ağaçların üstündeki kar en doğal haliyle karşınıza çıkıyor. Bir süre sonra güneş sıcaklığıyla kar ağaçlardan eriyip aşağıya düşüyor. Yoldaki karları iş makineleri temizliyor veya insanlar eziyor günün ortalarına doğru. Dediğim gibi karın en sade hali sabahın erken saatlerinde henüz güneş doğmadan, insanlar evden dışarı çıkmadan.

When I went outside, the sun was shining, but because it was cold and it was Ramadan, there weren't many people around. I was able to take pictures as I wanted. When it's crowded, people might think I'm taking pictures of them and misunderstand. Once, while I was at a car repair shop, someone jokingly asked why I was taking pictures of the shops.

Dışarıya çıktığımda güneş vardı ancak hem soğuk olması hem ramazan ayı olması nedeniyle dışarıda pek kimseler yoktu. Resimleri dilediğim gibi çekebildim. Kalabalık olduğu zaman insanlar onları çektiğimi düşünüp yanlış anlayabiliyor. Bir defasında araba tamir sanayisinde iken biri merak edip neden dükkanların fotoğraflarını çektiğimi sordu gülerek.

Snow looks especially beautiful on pine trees. The snow on the trees looks like a garment sewn by a skilled tailor.

Kar çam ağaçlarına ayrı bir yakışır. İyi bir terzinin diktiği bir giysi gibi görünüyor ağaçlar üstündeki karlar.

The snow adds a unique beauty to the mountains, hills, and houses. It's a pleasure to watch. Since February was warmer than usual for the season, most of the snow had melted. 40-50 cm of snow fell, but that's not enough for skiing. At least that much more needs to fall for comfortable skiing... These were the snowy scenes from my city. I hope you liked them.
