Road Trip, Hizan - Yolalan Road, Türkiye

Traveling in the middle of summer might not always be the smartest idea. Long car journeys and hot weather can be overwhelming. Luckily, our destination wasn't too far.

Yaz mevsiminin ortalarında gezi yapmak için çok akıllıca olmayabilir bazen. Uzun süren araba yolculuğu, sıcaklık bunalmaya neden oluyor. Neyse ki gideceğimiz yer çok uzak değildi.

Our journey is from Hizan district to Yolalan town in Bitlis. I took all the photos while driving. Hizan is a place with a lower altitude compared to the city center. Due to its special location and heavy rainfall, a significant amount of hazelnuts are grown here. After the Black Sea region, this is the largest hazelnut producing area.

Yolculuğumuz Hizan ilçesinden Bitlis'e bağlı Yolalan beldesine doğru. Tüm fotoğrafları araba seyir halinde iken çektim. Hizan il merkezine oranla rakımı düşük bir yer. Özel konumu, yoğun yağışı nedeniyle burada ciddi oranda fındık yetişir. Karadeniz bölgesinden sonra fındık en çok burada üretilir.

Hizan is located at a fairly low altitude. As we travel along the road, we climb towards the mountains. We climbed from an altitude of 1450 meters to 2000 meters. It's a challenging road; in winter, with heavy snowfall, vehicles get stranded.

Hizan oldukça alçakta yer alıyor. Yolda ilerlerken dağlara doğru tırmanıyoruz. 1450 metre rakımdan 2000 metre yükseltiye doğru tırmandık. Zorlu bir yol kış mevsiminde yoğun kar yağışında araçlar yolda mahsur kalıyor.

After climbing the challenging path, it's now time to descend. Every difficult path has beautiful things waiting for us at the end. The photos turn out better because the sunlight is clearer. The clouds are so close, almost as if they're touching the mountains.

Zorlu yolu tırmandıktan sonra şimdi de iniş vakti. Her zorlu yolun sonunda bizi bekleyen güzel şeyler var. Güneş ışınları daha net olduğu için fotoğraflar daha güzel çıkıyor. Bulutlar çok yakınımızda sanki dağlarla bitişik gibiler.

We're going downhill. We come across all kinds of vehicles. There weren't this many cars before. People start buying cars as soon as they save up a little money.

Aşağıya doğru iniyoruz. Karşımıza her türlü araç çıkıyor. Önceleri bu kadar araç yoktu. İnsanlar küçük birikim yaptıktan sıonra hemen araba almaya başlıyor.

After a challenging climb and descent, we arrived at the town of Yolalan. Yolalan is a flat, lowland area. Agriculture and livestock farming are the main sources of income for the region. There are large areas available for farming and livestock breeding. The only problem for the region seems to be healthcare services. It is 16 km from Hizan, 62 km from Bitlis, and 36 km from Tatvan. Traveling 62 km to access the best healthcare services is a major disadvantage for them.

Zorlu tırmanış, inişten sonra Yolalan beldesine geldik. Yolalan beldesi dümdüz, ovalık bir alan. Tarım ve hayvancılık bölgenin gelir kaynağı. Taırm ve hayvancılık yapmak için geniş alanlar mevcut. Bölge için tek sorun sağlık hizmetleri gözüküyor. Hizan'a 16 km, Bitlis'e 62 km, Tatvan'a 36 km mesafede. En iyi sağlık hizmeti için 62 km ilerlemek gerekiyor, onlar adına büyük dezavantaj.

After the town of Yolalan, there is the village of Yolcular. From Yolcular village, if you go right, you will reach Tatvan, and if you go left, you will reach Bitlis. We chose the Bitlis road. I will share this journey with you in a few days.
