Landscape photos taken from the foot of the mountain.

Today I went for a hike down the mountain to collect a rare type of beet. I thought I'd take some great photos of the scenery because the location overlooks the city. So, while I was collecting the beets, I was also taking pictures. The first three photos are from the starting point. This is an alternative, unpaved road, so no vehicles pass through. Also, rocks accumulate on the road during the winter, requiring heavy machinery to clear it.

Bugün nadir yetişen bir pancar türünü toplamak için dağın eteklerine doğru bir yürüyüş yaptım. Gideceğim yer şehre hakim bir konumda olduğu için de harika manzara fotoğrafları çekeceğimi düşündüm. Bir taraftan o pancarı toplarken diğer taraftan da fotoğraflar çektim. İlk üç fotoğraf başlangıç yolunda çektiğim resimler. Burası alternatif stabilize yol olduğu için araçlar geçmiyor. Ayrıca kış mevsimi boyunca yolda kayalar birikmiş, iş makinesinin yolu açması gerekiyor.

I'm slowly climbing the mountain. The town-like city is gradually taking shape. The city center has a population of around 70,000. In the older settlements, houses are generally single-story. Recently, 3-4 story houses have started to be built. The houses have gardens in front. These gardens contain fruit trees and areas where they can plant crops. I saw some people digging the fields with shovels and pickaxes. Others were cutting the weeds in the fields with scythes before digging.

Dağı yavaş yavaş tırmanıyorum. Kasaba görünümlü şehrin yavaş yavaş görüntüsü ortaya çıkıyor. Şehir merkezinin nüfusu 70,000 civarı. Eski yerleşim yerlerinde evler genelde tek katlı. Son zamanlarda 3-4 katlı evler yapılmaya başlandı. Evlerin önünde bahçe. Bahçede meyve ağaçları ve ekim yapabilecekleri alanlar olur. Kimilerinin elinde kürek ve kazma ile tarlayı kazıdığını gördüm. Kimileri de kazıma yapmadan önce tarlanın içindeki otları tırpan ile kesiyordu.

The stream meanderes as it flows. This stream originates from the plateaus 10 km away and merges with another stream in the town center. The density in the town center increases. Then, it joins other streams in other cities and flows into the Tigris River.

Menderesler çizerek ilerleyen dere. Bu dere kaynağını 10 km ötedeki yaylalardan alır, çarşı merkezinde diğer dere ile birleşir. Çarşı merkezindeki yoğunluk artar. Ardından diğer şehirlerdeki diğer derelerle birleşerek Dicle Nehri'ne akar.

I'm on my way back. The flowers and leaves are slowly opening. When the trees are fully in bloom, this area will turn into a forest. There's a wooded area just above this region. It's called "harmanlık." To be honest, I don't know what the name is used for. I could ask the old men, actually. I think it's related to agriculture. I'm a little tired from climbing and descending the hilly roads. I didn't bring a hat either. The sun's rays also bothered me a bit.

Dönüş yolundayım. Çiçekler, yapraklar yavaş yavaş açıyor. Ağaçlar tam açtığı zaman buralar ormanlık alana dönüşecek. Bu bölgenin az üstünde ormanlık bir alan var. Buraya harmanlık adı verilir. Doğrusu bu ismin ne amaçla kullanıldığını bilmiyorum. Yaşlı amcalara sorabilirim aslında. Tarım ile ilgili olduğunu düşünüyorum. Eğimli yolları çıktığım, indiğim için vücudumda biraz yogunluk oluştu. Yanıma şapka da almamıştım. Güneş ışınları da bir miktar beni rahatsız etti.
