CiudadELA: La Música de la Esperanza para Combatir la ELA (ES-EN)

El 8 de septiembre fue un día especial para mí. Representando a Five Senses, fui patrocinador de un evento único que tuvo lugar en La Habana, cerca del Capitolio. El reloj marcaba alrededor de las 6-7 pm cuando comenzó esta experiencia que combinó networking y momentos con amigos de la comunidad de criptoentusiastas de Cuba, la comunidad Hive, así como fotógrafos, diseñadores, DJs y muchas otras personas apasionadas.

El evento tenía un propósito noble: crear conciencia sobre la Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica (ELA), una enfermedad cruel que afecta a millones de personas en todo el mundo y que aún no tiene cura.

La ELA en Cifras

Para comprender la magnitud de esta enfermedad, basta con mirar algunas estadísticas impactantes. Según datos recientes, aproximadamente 5 de cada 100,000 personas en el mundo padecen ELA, lo que la convierte en una enfermedad rara pero devastadora. Esta cifra es un recordatorio de la urgente necesidad de investigación y apoyo para aquellos que enfrentan esta batalla.

La Inspiración de Stephen Hawking

Hablando de la ELA, es imposible no mencionar a Stephen Hawking, un hombre que desafió las limitaciones de esta enfermedad de manera asombrosa. A pesar de la parálisis progresiva que experimentó debido a la ELA, Hawking continuó sus investigaciones en el campo de la física teórica y realizó contribuciones significativas al conocimiento humano. Pero su historia va más allá de la ciencia:

A pesar de su inmovilidad, Hawking podía comunicarse utilizando un sistema de voz computarizado que respondía a los movimientos de sus mejillas.
Mantuvo una actitud optimista y un sentido del humor único a lo largo de su vida, lo que inspiró a muchas personas en todo el mundo.

ELA en Cuba

Uno de los factores esenciales son las condiciones sociales y de vida que rodean a los pacientes que padecen esta enfermedad. En el caso de Cuba, la situación es muy compleja, tanto en el aspecto económico como en el acceso a posibilidades y medicamentos. Con esta información, puedes imaginar lo difícil que se vuelve la situación de estos pacientes en nuestro país.

CiudadELA: Transformando Sonidos en Esperanza

¿Qué es ciudadELA en pocas palabras? Es una iniciativa impulsada por un grupo de artistas y emprendedores cubanos que unen sus voces en solidaridad con aquellos que luchan contra la ELA. Esta enfermedad cambia vidas, y este espacio busca convertirse en un faro de esperanza y aprendizaje

Con la participación de expertos en salud, músicos y artistas, ciudadELA capturará los sonidos generados por los pacientes utilizando un dispositivo llamado Theremin.

Estos sonidos se transformarán en una obra musical que reflejará la vida y la vitalidad de aquellos que enfrentan la ELA. La idea detrás de esta obra es transmitir los sentimientos de los pacientes de una manera única, permitiendo que su voz sea escuchada en todo el mundo y registrada en la blockchain para la posteridad.

Un Día Inolvidable de Esperanza y Amistad

Mi experiencia en este evento fue inolvidable. Las fotografías terapéuticas exhibidas tocaron corazones y demostraron la humanidad y la solidaridad en su máxima expresión. Fue un día de buena música, un proyecto que llegó directamente al corazón y la compañía de amigos entrañables. En las sesiones de networking, intercambié ideas, planteé proyectos y establecí valiosos contactos.

On September 8th, it was a special day for me. Representing Five Senses, I had the privilege of sponsoring a unique event that took place in Havana, near the Capitol. The clock was ticking around 6-7 pm when this experience began, blending networking and moments with friends from the crypto-enthusiast community of Cuba, the Hive community, as well as photographers, designers, DJs, and many other passionate individuals.

The event had a noble purpose: to raise awareness about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a cruel disease that affects millions of people worldwide and still lacks a cure.

To grasp the magnitude of this disease, it's enough to look at some striking statistics. Despite the progressive paralysis he experienced due to ALS, Hawking continued his research in theoretical physics and made significant contributions to human knowledge. But his story goes beyond science:

Despite his immobility, Hawking could communicate using a computerized voice system that responded to the movements of his cheeks.
He maintained an optimistic attitude and a unique sense of humor throughout his life, inspiring many people around the world.

One of the essential factors is the social and living conditions surrounding patients with this disease. In the case of Cuba, the situation is very complex, both economically and in terms of access to opportunities and medications. With this information, you can imagine how challenging the situation becomes for these patients in our country.

CiudadELA: Transforming Sounds into Hope
In a few words, what is CiudadELA? It is an initiative driven by a group of Cuban artists and entrepreneurs who join their voices in solidarity with those fighting against ALS. This disease changes lives, and this space aims to become a beacon of hope and learning.

With the participation of health experts, musicians, and artists, CiudadELA will capture the sounds generated by patients using a device called Theremin.

An Unforgettable Day of Hope and Friendship
My experience at this event was unforgettable. The therapeutic photographs displayed touched hearts and showcased humanity and solidarity at its finest. It was a day of great music, a project that reached directly into the heart, and the company of dear friends. During networking sessions, I exchanged ideas, proposed projects, and made valuable connections.
