Happy meowing

In the morning when we woke up, after another good night's rest, the kittens were happily meowing to us for attention. They sleep in our bedroom you see, to keep them separate from Mochi. The kittens have not been tested for a few things yet and have to be 800 grams to be tested, they are now around 500-600 grams only.

It's great that the little rascals decide to give us a good night's rest and this means we are happy to reward them with a lot of playtime and attention during the day.

How adorable!

Chaotic morning

Although I have to admit that the second morning was a lot more chaotic than the first one. Looking back today, a few days later, I see that I should allow myself to have some work time in the morning after they have been taken care of and can get some playtime inside the playpen until the next round of them being awake. I did not do that the first or second morning and this is some personal feedback for myself that I don't have to feel bad if they have each other to play with first. They will keep meowing for attention as long as you answer them and look at them. If their litterbox is cleaned, they have water and food, and received some attention while inside the playpen, I can take a bit of time for myself without worrying. They are happy little beans after all!

They are super playful

Cuteness overload

The kittens are absolutely adorable and I love playing and cuddling with them. I probably have GBs of pictures and videos once they leave, and a lot of them are not even good pictures so I should sort them but I find that I have better things to do now so I just go through the ones that look great, check which kittens are in the pictures and then send them to the families because they would love to be updated all day. I understand as they are all beautiful as well, very good models!

They need a lot of sleep!

Diarrhea

As it often happens with kittens that come from the street, or worse, in this case, rescued from inside a garbage container, some diarrhea will appear at some point. If that's the worst thing happening, I think we can handle it. I don't even want to think about the fact that they were left for dead inside a bin, people suck! Not all of them of course, but those that can do this. I see how happy and adorable these kittens are and can't even imagine that they'd have died there.

I'll take the extra poop! First, it was Alubia who had diarrhea and then Garbanzo followed. Dear Alubia pooped over the edges of the litterbox, oops. It was some smelly business to clean but thankfully they are kittens and it's easier to manage than an adult cat having diarrhea.

They are very skilled at playing football!

Super mommy

Did I mention these kittens had a super mommy that not only took care of these 5 of her own but also took care of an abandoned nest of kittens? She has been adopted a few days ago, and can now enjoy some rest after doing a great job not only with her own kittens but making sure these other ones stayed alive as well. How wonderful can nature be, right? Don't worry Mom, we will take good care of the kittens until they leave for their forever homes.

The mother tested positive for some parasite which means the kittens will get treatment for this too and we will get the meds tomorrow.

So handsome!

The end of day 2

As diarrhea appeared in the evening, we were a bit afraid of the night that was to come. We made sure the playpen was cleaned properly and I was happy to have a few helping hands. The washing machine made overtime cleaning the towels. I will tell you in the next blog how the night went!

See you in the next blog!
