Saturday Afternoon Walk

Weekend!

The weather was fabulous, the mood was good and we wanted to head outside. After the weekly management meeting for work was finished, the first thing that was discussed was, what shall we eat? While I was still writing some content and already had a bowl of muesli earlier, meaning I wasn't as hungry as my boyfriend, lol, the next comment was let's head out and eat something.

I fully understand my boyfriend wanting to get out as much as possible during the weekend as he spends way more time inside than we do during the week and when you can enjoy this fabulous weather we have here currently, it almost feels like a crime to stay inside!

Everyone, get dressed!

We were all still in pyjamas or comfy clothes until it was decided we'd go for a walk. So I called our daughter and said it was time to find her an outfit as we were heading out. She surely loves her screen time during the weekend, especially after she spent a lot of time practising the tables 2 to 9 last week when I found out she didn't tell me about that homework. As I felt she surely picked up her game and took it like a champ, I had no issues with her starting the Saturday with screen time. She's been taking her taking responsibilities better and better lately, which makes me proud.

Everyone was overdressed!

It can be very windy here at the coast and therefore we often still think we should wear a long pants as well as have a vest with us. My daughter is the worst, she is often afraid to get "SO cold" even if there's just a cool breeze only, which can be funny but I just take that into account picking her clothes.

Usually, we drive to one part of the boulevard and then walk back and forth all the way to have a decent long walk. Meaning we can at least drop our vests in the car until we feel the breeze (being present or not) directly at the coast but this time, we left the car at home to only have a decent walk. It's been a few weeks since we could do that due to the extreme winds..

Down the street it was clear, vests needed to be wrapped around the middle and shorter clothes would have been more than enough, heck, even our sandals would have been perfect for that day, but we didn't walk back inside and continued the walk carrying these things.

A few hidden spots

We have a few hidden spots with some restaurants where we passed a few times before but never actually checked what the restaurants were serving as one time it was way too busy and the other time it was when I had loads of pain and just wanted to get back home. This time we checked them both and think we will go and check these places for one of these date nights or afternoons because the spots were quite romantic and good atmosphere. If there's some music added during the evenings, I think both of us could enjoy going there for sure. The food seemed decent but a bit expensive, that's probably because of the few hotels very near, so it must be packed with tourists in the summer.

Everything was full

We found a place where we never sat a little further, the food looked great, sadly everything was reserved. We're definitely going to check it later, but if that's on a weekend day, we now know without a reservation that won't work out. Our daughter didn't mind that they were all booked because next to it was place with ice cream mostly, so this is where we ended up sitting for a little bit.

She had an ice cream, I had a milk shake:

It tasted good because it was proper ice cream but it was a lot of foam instead of actual milk shake. We were still hungry though..

A few tapas available

When we saw the lady serve a few tapas to another customer we asked which tapas they had. They only had a few as they are an ice cream salon but the toast with tuna was good enough to still the hunger a bit. I first thought it looked a bit cheap but the good tuna made up for it because the taste was much better than I expected.

Flowers!

If we weren't already in a happy mood, we surely were when we walked back and saw these yellow flowers. I had to check and take off my sunglasses to see if the pictures were sharp enough because they were truly so bright that they hurt my eyes even with glasses on. Aren't they pretty?

Finding these cute little flower during a walk in the neighbourhood always makes me smile and happy. It always reminds me to be thankful for the little things in life that are so beautiful because once life was really dark and not so bright.

I feel so grateful to be here and these are truly moments of gratitude where I feel blessed to live in such a beautiful country with this much beauty around us. I've been in a great mood all weekend!
